1. With warm water rinse your hair 2. Apply sulfate/sulphate and silicone free shampoo (basically a rlly gentle shampoo, it can have sulfate but it might not work with it and if theres silicone in it then definitely dont use it bc it's not gunna work) 3. Rinse with warm water 4. Apply sulfate and silicone free conditioner (a lot) 5. Rinse it out 6. Comb it with ur hands 7. Shake them and get rid of frizz with finger 8. Rinse again with warm water 9. Apply sulfate and silicone free hair gel 10.rinse it again 11. Scrunch them across ur whole head a lot like A LOT in every direction 12. Use an old shirt to dry it bc towels are too rough and big 13. Dry with the shirt while scrunching 14. Let air dry

I followed this routine yesterday and had the best hair day that I’ve had in a very long time. I don’t think I was using nearly as much gel as I should have been using. By following your method my curls clumped so much better, I got better volume, everything was better. I still had frizz on the canopy but I live in the deep South so until this humidity goes away, I’m living with it.

I'm so happy to hear this! I don't think it's realistic to get rid of frizz completely, as it just comes with curly hair (and climate of course), but so glad your curls are looking better from following this!

Before detangling separate the hair down the middle. It makes it so much easier. If you dont you’re pulling the hair from side to side causing more tangles especially at the roots.

I would add to that.. there are people who shower twice a day and still don't have a clean scalp. Not to mention all the water and time they waste. I know a few who do this. They tell me if they don't wash morning and night, their hair gets greasy. Super cheap shampoo/conditioner also add to this issue, but I don't bother trying to help anymore. It's just not worth it! Once/twice a week washing probably used the same water anyway 🤣

I have it but longer and believe me it's hard to maintain. You're lucky with straight hairs!!
@rachelsitzman91074 жыл бұрын
I'm adopted internationally from Colombia and my mom was Norwegian/German with thick but straight hair. She would treat my hair just like hers until I finally asked her to stop hair drying my hair and brushing through it when I was really young maybe 6. I think this is the first time in my 29 years of life where I've ever had a woman show me exactly how to care for my curls. I have always owned a diffuser but I've never really taken the time, I am very low maintenance and I don't wear makeup. I also own products that will help hydrate my hair but never really knew how I'm supposed to do it particularly while still in the shower. I thought I'm supposed to add it after I've already left the shower. No wonder I've been searching for ways to hydrate my hair and find the right natural products. As a mom of two boys under the age of two, my low maintenance has turned into pretty much no maintenance. Many people can tell that I really don't self-care. But watching this video today and taking the time to do my hair while my husband watches the kids on this cold snowy Wisconsin morning is the start to showing my kids that it's important to care for yourself so that you can care for others. I'm not one for social media but I I was recommended to your page by a really good friend and so far I really appreciated your honesty and your sense of reality. You are not vain but helpful. You are not basing your sense of self through what others think of you but instead confident in who you are take it or leave it. It's refreshing! Hope you have a wonderful Christmas!

@kellyisverystrange38153 жыл бұрын
Just make sure not to use any heat products on your hair, and I don’t suggest using a hair diffuser on your hair until it’s a bit more healthy, because straighteners can really dry out hair. I also suggest using a leave in condition and put it on soaking wet hair and then put gel in your hands then mixing it with some water and then scrunch in your hair

Absolutely beautiful hair, the curls and color are stunning! I am glad that you showed the reality of hair buildup and loss that occurs when you are only washing once a week. I don’t see anyone else addressing this issue which is a natural occurrence of dead hair buildup for curly hair that’s washed/wet weekly. The hair is not able to be shed through brushing or washing so it builds up and appears that you are loosing tremendously large amount of hair but it’s normal for weekly washing of curly hair. Thank you again for your involved and detailed process! Most methods for curly hair involve layering multiple products and extensive defusing, so thank you again!!!

I didn't really comprehend that part about turning off the dryer and turning it back on. 🤔 Instead of turning it off, why not just relocate to a different section?
@aprilbrowne33824 жыл бұрын
@@JColegreenEyes Hi! For my hair, if I leave the dryer on while relocating to a different section, it blows my hair around causing it to have a frizzy result and not allowing me to capture a bunch of the hair in the diffuser. I hope that made sense.

Ok wow - im not exaggerating when i tell you ive tried dozens of techniques and routines over the years, when this video was on my recommended page. I do some things similar to you, some things i avoid like the plague (eg raking, or touching my hair while its drying), some things ive never considered. Ive always plopped with a tshirt for a few mins while getting ready, but after watching i decided to wetplop instead and, like you, just gently squished out excess water with a microfiber towel and then went on to diffuse. And let me tell you. I still have my cast in but it already looks fantastic. Hardly any frizz, lots of definition and my curls are on my curly end of my personal spectrum. Amazing! The wet plop 100% helped with my dry and frizzy ends. Im gonna leave the cast in and pineapple it and then sotc in the am. Thank you for this video! Ps: im laughing at all these comments on how much product is being used and how long its taking.(diffusing from drenched to 95% for me is 45ish mins btw). These people clearly either dont have curlywavy hair or have never heard of the cgm 🤣🤣

I'm always on the search for that dream moisturizing product. Lately I condition and deep condition well, use a curl cream, use a small amount of coconut oil and a small amount of aloe vera gel at the end. Works pretty well. All about getting the ratios right. I tend to not like tons of gel. The coconut oil ends up giving definition so I dont need a lot of gel.
