the look on Benny's face after the hug...i've been there & felt THAT! It's not malice, it's regret. it's shame. it's raw emotion, but it's also love & determination to put one foot in front of the other & start over. And that bass...the iconic & legendary Rutger Gunnarsson! He also plays my favorite bassline of ABBA's, "If It Wasn't For The Nights".

It's so funny, I've heard all ABBA hits a million times, but I never ever _listened_ to them because ABBA was the antithesis of my type of music (or so I thought). Until a couple of months ago when I decided to really listen. And god damn they have lyrics that make me wanna bawl lol, I did not expect that in a million years from some of those upbeat songs. Amazing music, amazing lyrics, amazing fucking group. Period.

Yep,ditto that ! I grew up as a kid in the 70's listening to them. As a kid I had ABBA T-shirts, posters in my room, everything. Back then, I was living in Australia and they were massive superstars there. I loved this song. Now I'm 43 years of old and I still love it. Even now, this song still gets to me and I start balling my eyes out. The vocals, instruments, sounding sweet and melodious while at the same time being sad and full of meaning. Masterpieces like this will still be heard in another 45 years , wow, wow !!

Premise: I am a super fan of Abba and in particular of Agnetha. I am 64 years old, I am pleased to see a guy like you appreciate and be moved by listening to this beautiful piece by Abba (one of many!). I would advise you to comment, for me, the best song of Abba: "The winner takes all". Knowing that that blond angel who is singing has just been left (with two small children!) from that blond Viking behind her! Simply heartbreaking! But Bjorn deserves great credit for writing the words of this wonderful piece!
Sounds SO GOOD and fresh today.....ABBA were masters in the studio and those girls can really sing

HAP3, I do appreciate a reactor who can pick out basslines, harmonies and countermelodies, yet appreciate the song on an emotional level. Because all these things together make the chemicals in one's brain respond to sounds. One can't help reacting to Abba like this if one (okay, I'm beginning to sound like a member of the Royal Family) is at all attuned to music. Kudos to you, sir.

"Knowing me knowing you" is one of ABBA's most famous heartthrob songs The lyrics are strong and raw (some say there is a preview of the couple conflicts between Agnetha and Björn) And it has a powerful chorus on Agnetha and Frida, and a nice melody The video is excellent, it shows the four of them in separation situations, and plays with the images of the trios The part that stands out the most is the appearance of the image of Agnetha almost whispering as a reflection of Frida's main voice Knowing me knowing you It was five weeks in a row at # 1 in the UK, and one of them coincided with the # 1 of "Dancing Queen" on the Billboard. (Just this week of April 9, 1977, 44 years ago, ABBA was # 1 in the U.S. and U.K. with two different songs from the same album Mr it seems great that you follow the timeline of ABBA's songs But before you go to the next album (rightly called "ABBA The Album") I ask you if you can give one more visit to this fantastic album "Arrival" There is a very special ballad: "My love My life" and with a very special video, because only Agnetha (who is the main voice) appears I highly recommend it Here I leave the link: kzbin.info/www/bejne/eWjSmoqYdpubesU

Thanks for sharing the ABBA magic. Yeah it predates the divorce's but probably not the problems. I saw Bjorn in an interview talking about the Mama Mia stage production. early on they cut the "Ah Ha" out thinking it was too corny. When the song came up the audience put it back in. He said he realized people don't want us messing with their ABBA. There's just so much going on in their songs. The happy/sad aspect, the fantastic music & lyrics, the harmonies and the tiny hooks "Ah Ha". Together as a group, all giving input = ABBA. And it takes all of them to get it perfect too. So glad their working together again. I think good things are gonna come out of it.

This is ABBA's original 'divorce' song. Those 'a-ha''s crop up in a number of ABBA songs. Some fans have speculated that they hark back to the 60's Girl Groups and songs like The Shangri-Las 'Leader Of The Pack'. They act like somebody nodding agreement as the narrator gives their sad story, you know. like 'A-ha, I understand'.

I get emotional hearing this song as well. The beauty and sadness of it, driven by the powerful vocals and music makes a heck of a statement. Where love was once alive, there is now only ghosts. Memories can be sweet, but are ultimately sad because by definition, they no longer exist. Ah-haaa...

Love seeing your raw emotion to your reaction as that genuinely shows the purpose behind a reaction totally so don't ever apologise for that, just go with the feeling. It's got the poetry and emotion in the lyrics as well as in the melodies and the feel of the choices of notes and mix. It's the whole thing. Then add in the fact that they were real couples going through life as we all do and the struggles are real their emotions are REAL. Not like the lame non musical stuff that gets pushed out at us from the industry now days.
