Yes I love this music too, even though I was born in the early 70's. Sometimes I wish I lived in those times.

How nostalgic! I remember back then that we were content with little. We went to bars with friends, met some beauty and took her dancing! True, there was the Great Depression, the stock market down, problems with the health system, some racists on the streets, winds of change towards an uncertain future. I have to say that after almost a hundred years, things haven't changed much. But I can still wear a smocking in style!

🥰This comment just fills me with the most heartwarming feeling EVER!🥰 Oh my, you truly are lucky to have such parents and witnessed them dancing and skate to THIS kind of music. Me and my grandpa shared the love for jazz together, so I can only IMAGINE what it must have been like to have two *parents* living with this music! Thank you for sharing and brightening my day! 💜🌤

Thank You. This brings back many memories. My Father used to listen to these old 78 records. He was a Merchant Seaman, wore the same crew cut all his life. I was a long hair. One day I come home, my Eagles album was missing along with Neil Diamonds Hot August Night, and Eric Clapton's debut album. I go to the living room, and the old boy is stretched out in the recliner, rum and coke in hand, digging my albums. My friends and I would listen to his big band records, and really got into guys like Bennie Goodman, Lester Lanin, Glenn Miller, Tommy Dorsey, Cab Callaway. The old boy took my youngest brother to his first concert, Kiss and Judas Priest. He really enjoyed Glenn Tipton and K.K. Downing's guitar work. Music transcends the generations.

I was born 40 years after WWII began, but absolutely love the 30’s/40s era. The music, the hair, the clothes, the make up….all so much better than today…as was my poor England. Give me the nightly bombing over the ghastly illegal invasions happening daily, and anti-British dictatorship we have now.
