Happy thanksgiving y’all. Grateful for the nuggets of information I’ve been able to obtain from your channel Greg. Looking forward to what you’ve got in store for the future of this channel. This is a broad question but I’m curious as to your encounters with chlorinated solvents throughout your work experience (identification, precaution). Maybe this is a question you could hit on a future PPE adjacent video?
@makingmistakeswithgregАй бұрын
I have talked about the chlorinated solvents in a few videos but I definitely will talk about it more in the future. They are incredibly dangerous when heated at high temps. That’s why I stick to very simple cleaning prep and avoid a lot of hazardous chemicals 👍
We’re all thankful of your giving us interesting and useful information. It’s a good community that we have in the welding and fab space. I’m keeping my fingers crossed for next year.

Failed my welding test this past Tuesday. I guess the only cure is more practice. Anyways, glad to have this channel to fall back on for the practical application of welding. Happy Thanksgiving!
@makingmistakeswithgregАй бұрын
Failing a test is just an opportunity to improve. It sucks, is stressful, and is a disappointment, but remember this: it’s not where you start, it’s where you end up. Keep working at it and focus on improving a few things and mastering the basics 👍. You got it

Happy Thanksgiving, Greg . BTW Today, I learned that if you soak oven racks overnight in simple green and then hit them with the pressure washer, they come out really clean.

Nelson Mandela once said: True strength and achievement in life come not from avoiding failures altogether, but from the ability to overcome setbacks and get back up whenever you fall down; essentially, resilience is more important than perfection. I believe your many videos exemplify this philosophy, of learning from our mistakes, and striving to be better people and welders, and I have enjoyed every one of them. Thank You for that… Happy Thanksgiving Greg 🦃

Happy Thanksgiving to all. Spent some of the day examining welding on a ferry in the Adriatic Sea (what else to do when waiting to cross) . They came very close to the tank welds featured in a previous video. I don't think the ferry will sink because of the welding , however what happened to the proud craft of ship building?
@makingmistakeswithgregАй бұрын
Generally anything that has to be water tight is welded a bit better. Hopefully those welds weren’t at any point below the water line lol.

Do you think the klein tools p100 orange mask will work good for automotive detailing I mainly need it to block mist from liquid sprays and soaps
@makingmistakeswithgregАй бұрын
I think it would likely help keep the filters cleaner than the GVS due to the plastic protection over the filters.
