I actually got the wet look on an accident the other day. I was getting ready for work, and I refreshed my wash and go. I didn’t have time to dry it, so I through it in a low bun, without brushing it. It was cute. And I left. I got home and took the bun out to dry it, and I was shocked. I had the wet look, just from wearing my hair in a low bun half the day. It had no frizz, my curls were still popping. And I was like yassssss lol. Our hair is the same length, but curls are extremely defined naturally. I’m glad I found this hack. I hope it works for others.

I'm an older lady and I've been wearing my hair like this off and on for yeaaaarrrrrrs. The trick is don't move it around or touch it until it dries. And when I started, they didn't have all these buttercremes and curl leave- ins and conditioners that we have now.

For the girls who dont want the frizz. There's a simple addition that also has to be drenched into your hair along with these products. Add in Preferably at the very end of using the rest of the products. May not stopp the shrinkage completely but will minimize the frizz for most of the day and most for me it last 24 hours and that's minus sleeping on my hair or sweating all the products out. I used the method in the summer so it probably works better for the winter , maybe. Just don't separate the curls . It's also better to finger coil. ALWAYS FINGER COIL for lasting results. The brush takes off sooooo much product. Your hair needs all the moisture it can get especially if you have dry hair its because your not moisturizing . Water alone dries your hair . AIR DRY, AIR DRY, AIR DRY ! or cold press using the cool button only on your hair dryer.

I do this but I use lard yes lard with the same gel so when it drys it looks like really soft formed curls with little to no shrinkage, not hard brittle and dry. Learned this from the Creole side of my family. Also, lard is better and faster than rice water for hair growth. JS 💖💖💖

Lol, I been rocking the "wet look" for years now, not quite this flat, because I like to shake my hair instead of shingle or rake. I don't like to use that much product though. I can't use the denman brush either. I also don't do my edges so there's that, lol. I basically follow the Dickey method...I wash my hair, apply a leave in +/- gel in the shower on soaking wet hair, shake and go, takes me 15 min 😊
