Dear Stevie, Sharing your story in such raw detail as you did, is nothing short of amazing.
I know you didn’t do it for yourself, or for the show, but for those out there who may be experiencing
a similar nightmare, and that makes you one hell of a person.

The courage you have shown by allowing this to be known by the public is immeasurable, and even
if it helps just one person, it has the potential to be life-changing.

You are incredible mate, and should be super fucking proud of yourself for having gone through
what you’ve gone through; and come out of the other end shining. You’re a beautiful person, mate.

Proud to not only call you my co-host, but one of my best mates in the entire world.

 Love ya. - Jaack

I was molested by my birthgiver when I was young. When I finally tried to seek legal help, the justice system failed me, unsurprisingly, because a woman sexually abusing a man (I was only a boy back then, but you know what I mean) isn’t classified as a crime in my country. It takes a lot of courage to even come to terms with what happened, let alone speak about it. This just hit me like a truck. I was sexually assaulted by my cousin when I was 8, he was 16/17 at the time. I started to realise what had happened and remember what had happened when I was 14 and I just broke at 15. The case went no where due to people lying to protect him. Lying about us spending time alone together, lying about me even visiting them every week. I lost my family, lost the last year of my grandma being alive as I just couldn't look at her never mind talk to her out of shame and guilt. Ended up failing my Car's due to not being able to school or study. Lost my friends. Worst of all is that he has 3 kids of his own and the eldest turned 6 this year. I can't sleep due to the idea of what he could do to them. Just needed to vent.

Something happened to me when I was 11, I remember telling a friend's mom about it, and she told my nan, and they just laughed about how weird it was, and then it was never brought up again until I told my parents 15 years later (a few weeks ago, I'm 26 now). They were beyond angry that I told two adults and it never got passed onto them. It's important to tell everyone you can I think; you can't always trust that that one person will get the ball rolling for you, even if you think you can. My respect goes out to you Stevie, for speaking so publicly about this - very courageous. I'm glad it's not affecting you to a damaging degree anymore. Edit: I feel like it's important to point out to you, Stevie, that this very video is what encouraged me to open up to my parents and my partner about what happened to me. I want you to know that this video is helping others.

I’m not trying to make this a gender argument. Stevie is so so brave and honestly this is heartbreaking. 90% of abuse victims are female, and even most of them have trouble coming forward despite all this metoo stuff going around. So I can't imagine how much harder it is for the male victims to come forward, who then have to deal with the societal implications of their gender--homophobic connotations of being abused by a male (like people thinking you're queer if abused by a man), the feeling of potential emasculation if you admit to being a victim, the lack of recognition due to being a smaller percentage of victims, etc. Unfortunately often times the kids are victimized by people they trust, like family members, which makes it extra difficult to come forward.

If I could pass on anything its the importance of taking away stigma from victims, the only way I can do it is by sharing my story and underlining that it's never your fault and whilst you can't take it away fully over time it's possible to get stronger, to live a wonderful life and to trust people again. @@LindzTheLooneyOfLondon It truly does make you so strong no what happened to the horrid person who did this to you; it is truly only the weak that would ever stoop to prey on the vulnerable and it is truly disgusting. It worries me to think whether they know that what they're doing will impact on the victim for the rest of their life or whether they are simply acting on impulse. It does need to be talked about, and those that are brave enough to open up about this and start the conversation are so, so incredibly brave, especially when you know that the video will get a big audience and viewership, like Stevie knew when going into this particular story on Happy Hour. It's true, it never is the victim's fault, I mean, no person could bring such vile acts upon themselves, they simply do not deserve it! I really appreciate Stevie sharing his story, I'm a CSA survivor too and there's a lot of stigma around it with guys. I watched Pedroseph's video opening up not long ago and it just makes me feel more normal and less like some weak victim. I didn't get justice either, so going through all the trauma of the court system as a child was pointless anyway because the jury were undecided. I think our justice system in the UK is a joke tbh, and sex offences don't have a high enough sentence in my opinion. Three years for something that affects someone for the rest of their lives? Piss take, and that's if you even get justice, which many don't.

This is really bravely inspirational to open up despite the horror events, he has told his story. No words but well done.

The man giving you and the other boys money, was grooming. Like a “reward”, so that you’ll focus on that “good” part and come back. When I was groomed I didn’t recognize is was that at the time - being bought pizza, being gifted jewelry and items, having travel paid for..., all these things are to keep a person blind to the bad things they are experiencing. It’s awfully sad how this tricks children and even adults. 😞

You guys are really kind - thank you. I am emotionally far away from it so I am so much better now, 10 years has past, I have a child of my own. But whenever people (Such as Stevie) share their experience it does bring it back a bit.

14:37 that’s so true. Like Weller talking about his depression, Jack talking about his health anxiety, and now Stevie talking about his abuse. I might be wrong but I doubt many listeners will be in a similar situation, but I would expect a lot more to have experienced something similar during childhood. I expect listening to this is so comforting and inspiring for anyone who can relate.

Incredibly brave and moving share. Its so tragic that theres this huge taboo around this subject, where the victim is concerned. Hopefully videos like this will encourage people to speak out against these people. Well done

"Occasionally when I drink I think about this", the sad truth, it never leaves you, i resonated with that. Thank you for this anyways, I know how hard it is to speak about it, even when you grow up and you have the words, you find yourself and kid again and you just don't. Either way, what you said in this really helped me and opened up a dialogue. Thank you, Stevie.
