As long as you aren't in the city it's almost certainly legal. They are usually considered domestic animals not exotic pets, so the only issue would be laws related to noise, or that restrict all animals.

My Grandfather's family used to raise Pea Fowl back in the 1920's and 30's and I want to do that also! 🤗 I lived and worked on a farm 5 years ago in Western Colorado which had a full-grown male Peacock named Yoda.He and I became fast friends and would come running to me anytime I would call his name and when he was perched high up 30 feet from his Cottonwood tree all he would is simply glide down and land beside me! Their loud, tropical, horn-like voice takes some getting used to but soon becomes comforting!

I love peafowl. When I was a little girl, one of our neighbors (in a rural country area in Arkansas) had them, along with guinea fowl, chickens, ducks, geese, goats, horses, donkeys and a few pigs and cows. He had quite a bit of property, and different barns/houses for them all. I would play with the peacocks. They actually liked playing chase. They'd chase me, then stop and rouse me to chase them. They were well behaved and allowed me to pet them and even fed them from my hands. Our area zoo had peacocks too, but they weren't as friendly as the ones at our neighbors farm. I love to hear them call; I know that sound anywhere!

They dont make noise continuously all night. If you only have one male, he might reply to a pheasant at night. Or sound off if startled by something. If you have two, there is some competition in calls, but still not noisy all day and night. I have 18 roosters (chicken) that crow more often, but not as loud. But I enjoy all the sounds, because its not constant. (Depending on how many birds total)
