The worst thing about these pranksters is that they turn things that aren’t a joke for some people into a joke, such as having ocd or making mistakes. It makes people less forgiving of those who ACTUALLY have ocd or are prone to making mistakes. Lying about having mental issues as a joke is just evil. It’s part of why some people aren’t taken seriously if they bring up the mental issues they have that genuinely need certain accommodations, but they aren’t taken seriously because people who don’t even know what it’s like to suffer from them just use it as a joke when it’s not at all a joke for those who’s daily lives are impacted by their condition.

Thats what you got out of this? No one thinks he has OCD they think he's actually insane. Look at NYC where someone just got set on fire in the subway by a crazy person. The video isnt funny because the people on the other side are scared for their lives wondering if they will be attacked. You can tell by how they answer that they are trying to diffuse the situation and are scared. I remember another one called "in your face" where the prankster wore glasses with a secret camera. Some of them were good like going to an off licence to borrow the phone pretending to call overseas (which was expensive AF back then). But later pranks they would have to give themselves up when it would reach a point of getting the police involved. I think that was on the now-defunct Bravo channel.

'normal' ppl went from using r slur and making fun of sexuality and all that and now the socially-accepted punching bag is whether you are mentally ill. the moment a streamer gets a whiff of whether someone is mentally ill they'll immediately bring it up and the whole chat screams the 'SCHIZO' emote and teams on the chatter. Charlie even uses mentally ill here to describe the dude in an unsavory manner i'm mentally ill and you don't find me out doing shit like this to people, even when I'm having an episode I'm not harassing people with a camera.

Yeah "normal" people are and always have been the worst and most disgusting people among humanity.

Untreated mentally ill people are unsavory. Mental illness is the cause of many atrocities throughout the world. I know schizophrenics and they're treated and living normal sucessful lives. If mental illness wasn't a negative you wouldn't have to he treated for it. So yes. Nobody thinks mental illness is great because it negatively affects behaviors.

What a prank actually is: - A joke that is funny and makes everyone, including the "victim," to laugh What the internet thinks a prank is: - Harassing random people for content

Hearing somebody have the same opinion as you but being able to speak freely with a fanbase just makes me feel better I'm not the only one who hates the pranks nowadays. They used to be funny but at this point its: "Lets find someone to harass for money."

The hose one actually bothers me a lot. I work in a garden center and I watch out to make sure I don't spray people. Even if it's hot out and they ASK to be sprayed, I don't do it. It's just not a kind thing to do, I'm nervous I'd accidentally hit them with too hard of a blast of water or something.. I can't believe people do this to try to be funny online. It's so disrespectful.

I wish platforms would just take these type of videos down for showing blatant harassment. My friend's nephew (I think he was around 13 at the time) once told him that at a public pool him and his friends were "joking around" and circled people while pissing, surrounding them in urine. He thought it was funny, but when my friend told his nephew, "That's disgusting, there's nothing funny about that," he got embarrassed. He's a smart kid, but he wasn't raised by his parents and instead was influenced through his friends and the internet. Children need parental supervision when using the internet so that they don't end up watching these losers harassing people as a "joke"; kids will get so used to these prank videos that they'll think harassing people for their enjoyment is okay.

The fact that so many people on platforms like TikTok endorse and encourage these tiktokers who mess with random strangers in public is absolutely sad and disgusting, it’s messed up how normalised these things are. Even with people who work in retail and fast food, pranksters will target those people too.

-Harass the older generation -Don't bother teaching them how the newer world works, or give up after one or two tries -Oust them, mistreat them, threaten, and complain about them. And you're all confused when these people end up being harsh, callous, and irritable. Well played, America. Well played.
