FINALLY! someone who goes over the settings for this unit! i've watched a lot of these and everyone seems to either ignore this or glosses over it with no real explanation. a BIG thanks!

Light stopped working after a couple of years. Tested the battery pac with a multimeter and it read 0.3v's, then tested the light without the battery pack and everything worked, all sensors, so I knew the unit was good. Next, I tested the plug end of the solar plate, received no reading so I used 0000 steel wool to clean the outer perimeter of the plug as it looked hazed. I also inserted a tiny pipe cleaner into the center (+) of the plug and vigorously went back and forth with a tiny bit of carburetor cleaner. Took another reading (bright sunlight) and it read 13.5v's. So in my case, the plug of the solar plate built up enough corrosion so it wouldn't send a charge into the batteries. Test the plug first as I kinda went backwards, not thinking it could be a corroded plug.

I like this Van and thanks for the review. Great light source that'll save a body from running wiring and helping to keep the power bill down too. Great as well for outbuildings and sheds that aren't wired and away from the house or garage. Probably discourage the squatches from coming into one's yard from the woods at night too! lol

Good vid! If you ever get to the update, how about shooting some video at night? You can start from inside your house with the lights off and letting us see how bright it is after 20 months. I don't know why they don't give a lumens number with this one yet they do with the cheaper 36 LED version! AND they're on clearance this month, being July 2019, so if they're worth it, go get 'em while they last!
@VansWorld5 жыл бұрын
Whundh Umfuqh I will see what I can do about an update video. It still works great. I am actually using it inside my shed for a solar light. I bought the 36 led solar light too. It’s awful. I wouldn’t recommend it at all. It yeah the 60 led has been a champ! 😁👍

@@VansWorld Thanks for the update. And, if you haven't tried them out yet, the regularly priced $29.99 Braun 4ft. 5000 lumen shop lights are $19.99 with the their own coupon or a 20% coupon. I've got 2 of them in a large room with no overhead lights and they kick ass! One's literally sitting on the stand behind my 46" flat screen and the other is on the other end of the room so there's no reflection. I'm using them with a cheap 3 button remote control all plugged into the same 4ft 12 outlet bar that was also on sale at HF earlier this month, yet still worth their regular $24 or $29 price. Have fun!!

The motion sensor on my light stopped working after two weeks. When it was working, the distance was too short when the light finally came on. Unfortunately, box and receipt were trashed. I usually hold onto those for a while. Just mounted onto the outside of my balcony rail to use for a temporary light using the switch. Mine was not on sale.
@VansWorld5 жыл бұрын
That sucks. My first one was a dud. I took it back. They store your receipt on their system with your phone number. They can use that to swap it out with another one.
