If the gauge has 3 wires one is gnd, second is constant power (for coolor memory) and last one is key on power the turn the light on, if you have 4 whires its for changing brightnes (sorry for broken English)😅 Love you

5:28 For guages with 3 wires, the Red wire is for constant 12v power, white is for "switched on". And black of course being common ground (CG). Based on the issue you spoke about in the reviews, a common wiring mistake is the cause. It's hard to see which configuration you attempted in your demonstration. Long story short red needs constant 12v to maintain the memory configuration on the controller board. Similar to when an alarm clock or factory stereo in a car loses power you lose radio presets and other settings. Hook white up to a "switched on" source. Such as tying into the ignition wire on the back of your switch panel. On guages with a 4 wire pin out, Yellow is normally the trigger wire (switched on 12v source) and white would then be T'd into the factory dimmer so adjust guage brightness. Hope this helps.

The likes of boost gauges or other types of pressure gauges are so simple and have been manufactured in such larch quantities over the years that no matter what one you buy they usually work just fine. China has it down

Put a resistor on the led to make it dimmer

it would remember the color if you wired it to a remember wire. like the radio fuse or a clock

put the orange wire on the battery unswitched and out the white wire on the switch that controls the lights for the rest of your dash lights.

Thanks so much for this video! I go off of reviews as well. But at $15 I would still be too skeptical to bother. Seeing your video has me planning on installing one of these very soon! Seriously. Good look.

It's a $15 gauge so don't expect it to be of the highest quality. The gauge is not made to be disassembled. I tried and here is what I discovered. The housing is silver and looks to be metal but it's just plastic. The aluminum bezel/trim ring is crimped over a lip on the end of the housing. So to take it apart you have to pry and bend the bezel which is to say....destroy it. The LED light is of the surface mount type. So even if you can get the gauge apart it would be next to impossible to replace that LED.Again...in short, it's a $15 gauge. Just install it as is and hope for the best.

Cant rely on reviews anymore. Many of them are fake, especially on Amazon. If there are a lot of good reviews and also a lot of bad ones, the chance of the product being trash is 99%
