You’re a life saver I just bought this for the sole purpose of being able to turn in around in my garage due to limited room. I’m so glad I didn’t waste my money! Thank you Sir

Glad it helped! It possible to turn around on the jack, but it's not safe in my opinion

Nice video. No need to be paranoid. Raise and lower the bike 10 times in a row. You will become perfectly comfortable with the lowering speed. Make sure Jiffy stand is deployed, and she can't fall.

Driving the front wheel up on a piece of 2x6 will eliminate any problem getting the lift under the bike . If your uncomfortable with the bike leaning a lot on the Jiffy stand place a 2x6 under the stand as well till you do the lift.

Bought mine on sale at Lowes for 89. Same jack different color. Going on 7 years, never had a problem. Taking off the wheels made me nervous at first but gotten used to the wobble and stopped overanalyzing. What is the worst that can happen ?

@@georgeadeyemi4107 You can't use it for an oil chance. I do it via the center stand. Very easy to do. The bike is high enough. After you do the first one, the next one will be easy. I ordered a low profile oil collector from Amazon.

I would buy a Harbor Freight Jack in a heart beat (which I did) over the J&S Jack. The core product is similar except the price of the J&S which is at least 5 times more. The release pedal (lowering) whiich on the J&S has a valve, meaning you would have to bend down to release. in addition J&S customer Service is non Existant to say the least.

What is HF reputation? Many yrs ago I started by buying cheap things that it really didn't matter, had no problems, started getting more expensive stuff, still no problems Now I will buy whatever without worry I did break a socket adapter, took it in and they pulled one out of set and gave it to me....... absolutely no questions asked

There not the best jack out there but they do the job they are made for. I got one that was thrown away because it didn't work. Alot of people don't know but some of them are sent to the stores with little or no hydraulic fluid in them. That was the case with the one I fished out of a dumpster. It was low on fluid. I filled it with ATF which is about the same as the fluid that comes in them (and it conditions the seals) and it works perfect!

I have ab older model. 10-12 years old I'm guessing. Feathering the release valve isn't too bad. Instead of welded on "Pegs" for the safety bar, mine has notches that the end drops down in. Might try looking for a good used older model.

@RidingandWrenching
@RidingandWrenching Жыл бұрын
There are pros and cons to their 2 lifts. The cheaper one has a foot pedal for lowering the bike. It's actually easier to use than the more expensive one (the blue/gray). The cheaper one is more maneuverable than the blue/gray (while the bike is lifted). The blue/gray has a nicer safety mechanism that engages automatically. That is the only real advantage I see to the more expensive one

You will love J&S jack, which costs more, but is far superior to that Harbor Freight thing. Do you really want to trust a 30-thousand-dollar bike on a 150-dollar jack? Also, with J&S you can get a cool oil drain pan attachment. I've had my J&S for years and love it. Super stable. Remember, with any jack, to release pressure onto safety catches even for short periods, this saves your cylinder!
@RidingandWrenching
@RidingandWrenching 2 жыл бұрын
Excellent points! I now have a J&S and love it. The oil change pan is a GAME CHANGER if you do your own oil changes! The only thing that I don't like on the J&S is the release valve. I wish that it were foot actuated. I have gotten use to it though

I had a Harbor Freight jack for by GW1800. Waaaayyyyy to flexxy for my taste. Even wife commented on that. Saying "You're not thinking of tugging and working on that are you?" Returned it shortly after. Got a J&S. MUCH better. What makes the bike stable is the spread of the lift arms. The HF jack has about a 10.5" spread while the J&S is about 14" IIRC.

I think the HF jack is a good option. Currently, it is the ONLY option you have for a motorcycle jack. I do not know if it is compatible with all motorcycles. Most Harley motorcycles have a frame underneath. The Indian and Goldwings may not be compatible
