One of the best races on the INTERNET between two of the most feared automobile power houses of all time. Porsche vs Audi. Even though this race is over 6 years old the lap times both of these cars are doing is astounding.

2 good drivers, very good drivers! but, and i love porsche, audi seems more stable, less oversteering, and seems to have tons more grip while getting out from turns. (4x4 vs 2x4)

+MZ PL_UK I'm not 100% sure, but I think it has something to do with regulations. In Le Mans all the GT cars run yellow lights, but the LMP1 and 2 cars run white lights, just so people know to move out the way when they white lights.

These are GT3 spec racing cars. The weight, power output, etc. are all regulated. Every car in the series makes similar horsepower numbers. The entire point of the class is to have fairly even matched cars from a wide range of manufacturers.

Looks like the Porker has it, just about; R8 got nailed on the straight. Tough call, since the Audi is, I assume, going to be considerably heavier (that V10 in the R8 is pretty big). Other thing is that these are tuned cars, rather than standard models, so it bears little resemblance as to what might happen on the street. Either way, awesome footage.

Don't find myself caring. The Audi V8 and Porsche H6 both sound nasty good in their own way (and those straight cut gears), it's glorious. The 911 is a tried and true racer, so I'm willing to bet it will be slightly faster. The Audi R8 platform is from the Lambo Gallardo, which was never aggressively entered in competitive racing.
