It was great meeting you at the Bunyan show (Saturday), Pete. Are you required at all to level the stumps after taking down a tree? Bill

You should get a modified 572 for that size of timber! I think you will really like it. 👍
@lastplacetrophy3821 Жыл бұрын
With the apparent crap quality of the timber, who made the call to purchase it? I assume it was inspected before agreeing to purchase and decide on a price.

38 year's ago all i could tell you is when i was born..😂 395 is a beast off a saw but i wouldn't want to pack it around all day...
@fredscheerle7592 Жыл бұрын
It aen't much heavier than a Mac Eager Beaver, at the end of the day you would still have a running 395, but the EB would have been thrown and replace with an Axe!

How do you decide which trees to cut? Obviously if they are dead, but otherwise, what is the criteria?
@nuts31910 ай бұрын
They are usually marked by a forester

Has Lauryn noticed the guns being bigger when you snuggle up, since switching over to the 395??🤠 I think it fits your style of cutting better really (especially since you arent taking the smaller tops currently)if you can stay on some what flatter ground while packing it!💪

I remember the Cherry boom. My dad got his place logged then. Now the Cherry gets root rot before they mature, and white oak and walnut is all anyone wants to bother cutting.

No one ever wants others to see when we're struggling, but you know some time it does others good, because then they realize that they aren't the only ones struggling by themselves. But sometimes we have to do what feels best for ourselves, and do whatever we need to in that respect. Take er easy Pete, because you know its going to get better sooner or later. So keep your head up, and eyes looking towards the future, because what's in the past is just that. Can't change that, we can only make efforts to do things better in the future as best we can. Take care Pete, and remember you have those at home waiting to welcome you back each day.

Love the 395 , used to use mine on a 66" grandberg mill . Ran full comp 197 drive link ripping chain . I switched to an MS880 just because it was easier to work with the stihl style clutch . Now the 395 gets used to cut big logs to length . Its a power house

Keep yer eyes and yer chin up pard, all the components are still where they need to be with the cuttin guy..........just got a rougher dance partner on this patch ol buddy. We all have those days when the look of our work begs the thought that "this could be the first day I've ever touched a F-in saw, cuz this guy's work looks like shit!" Just gotta trust in yerself, remember that you're still workin for Nutsy and don't have to turn wrenches or peck nails for a differnt boss lol. Safe cuttin pard

We had 5 moose on our property when we bought it in 2008. They ruined hundreds of red maple by cribbing the bark off the young 3-4" dbh maples in long strips. I guess they love the taste. Now 15 years later those scarred maples make good firewood but, aren't worth anything timber wise. Now we don't see many moose because of the winter tick killing them.

Too bad about your 372, the newer Xtorq ones are known for blowing out the crank bearings because the piston in them is so much heavier than the original 372 which last forever.
