Came for the crystrons. Stayed for the nations of the world.

Watching this early, and now being able to comment on it; I think this is a perfect way to fill the void of What a Deck. The edits are entertaining & we get to see the thought process as you continually update your build throughout the month as you climb the ladder. Crystrons were also a great deck to start with. Not only is it an underrated archetype, but for older fans, they know its your flagship deck too; so it’s a good jumping on point
@A.C_B.2 жыл бұрын
Seeing cards like Halq, Isolde or Electrumite being played in their intended archetype is weirdly satisfying. Playing more cards in decks with garnets is actually pretty good, because it reduces the chances of drawing the garnets.
@edb36mar2 жыл бұрын
Electrumite worked so well in its intended archtype it made the deck almost a meta contender because it could almost do all the things magicians could do..... However at that point magicians already existed so just play magicians and it's less of a headache to pilot.

You absolutely need to keep track on how many coin flips you win when deciding who goes first. It is honestly the greatest indicator of who will win the match and it is important to keep track of it to see how good your deck actually did. If you win 50 of 100 coin flips and proceed to win about 50 games than you actually did worse than if you only won 20 coin flips and still got 40 wins, you know?

Not gonna lie, I actually played the crystron deck quite a bit in MR3, in paper, and loved the hell out of it. Sadly once MR4 came out it made the deck kinda tank hard, with the exception of Halq's release. And my inability to pick one up due to them being so expensive and my want to play paper waning. It's great to see you playing them, and I might give them a pick up on MD.

I feel like there's an easy solution Konami could enact to make Crystrons a better as a turn 2 deck: print a tuner that can special summon itself and another Crystron from your hand as a quick effect and then immediately after that synchro summon a Machine-type monster and have the materials either banished or shuffled into the library. Also, you're locked into Machines for the turn for good measure. I don't think this is terribly broken. I imagine that, more often than not, it probably just amounts to you getting to turn 1 negate something with Dragster. Also Crystrons still need a good Spell to search off Smiger...

Mathematician is a good enough card that I think it’s worth crafting at least 1 or 2 copies. Obviously Crystrons aren’t very good, but this card is really good in general. It’s really good to send Harp Horror, it’s great in Shaddoll, and it’s just a generically good card. With that said, I don’t think 3 is necessary. 2 is a perfectly fine number.
