This is writing at it's best. Writers at CollegeHumor you are REAL comedians you can acutually make me "LOL". I don't know how you guys come up with this stuff but it's great. Even though it is poking fun at stuff that may be offensive to some people, it's all in good fun and you make it work. And the acting! Brilliant! Streeter and Pat looked so naturally - I think this is one of the best Hardly Workings out there. I must watch it one more time!

Um. I'n pretty sure that they meant WWI. Silent movies were made in late 1910's until late 1920's. WWI was happening 1914-1918. And by the time WWII began movies with sounds have already been invented

@2010msjd it's kind of an anachronism. the film technology as well as the reference to "europe's war" is very WWI, but the first red scare wasn't until 1919-1920 so the "filthy reds abound" thing doesn't really make sense.
