Everyone always hates on Dave's voice/singing...but it's one of the most unique voices of metal. These songs wouldn't hit the same with someone else singing
@Keeleean2 жыл бұрын
Back these days his voice was at its prime. Now that he survived cancer it sounds more rough. Fits to their newer songs. His voice is absolutly phenomenal in any way
@shadowledastray2 жыл бұрын
@@Keeleean Agreed. His modern deep gritty sound, and band tuning down, really helped him adjust after those rough years when he struggled with singing. Supposedly the metal plate he had put in during neck surgery presses up against his vocal chords.. Said he doesnt feel his voice resonating when singing ever since. Yet he didn't give up

So true.....cannot deny the talent within Dave. People can criticize all day about his vocals. I'm surprised that nobody really mentions Megadeth when talking about Woodstock 99. Sure, RHCP's set ended with a riot, but Megadeth played THROUGH the riot. Straight up one of the most thrash metal things I've ever seen. 🔥
@WReckeR3063 ай бұрын
I was there and I remember some guys I was hanging with who decided they were going to see Megadeth, in fact one of the performances they looked forward to the most when committing to go. I chose RHCP instead because my brother and I had already seen them at Woodstock '94 when they wore the giant light bulb costumes. We wanted to see what else they'd pull off. Plus, Megadeth was in their relatively radio-friendly era. So then of course I had a front row to the fires and riot, which started 20 ft from where I was standing. I often think about whether or not I chose the better option. Honestly, I know I'd've felt I really missed out on history if I had to hear stories about how the fires and rioting started, while instead having to listen to She Wolf or Use the Man, songs that fell off setlists forever more. I have the photos and the memory of that crazy, crazy night and I'm grateful I saw such mayhem.

@@themanzato I'm actually not joking - there are a few spots where the audio doesn't precisely match the video when Dave is onscreen. There's an official live video release of a different show in which the vocals have clearly been overdubbed (I think it's Blood in the Water maybe (?)) so I'm thinking it's something Dave might have done here too...I could be wrong tho.

One of the best performances I've seen) Megadeth at Woodstock 99 just tore up! Most went to Red Hot Chili Peppers and many were on the riots after that, so they didn't get to see the official closing of Woodstock in 1999. I'm still surprised that people were watching the closing behind the western stage, while everything was burning 1 hour before near the eastern (main) stage. Although the distance was great and many did not know what was going on at all) But the footage on this DVD confirms my words!!! It is especially symbolic on the song Crush 'Em, people sing along and in the distance they are all destroyed by the festival! Scary and exciting performance at the same time, thank you for being able to see this performance)
