I was a life long android user for about 10 years. i used best samsung, motorolla, google phones. but it was just a revelation for me when I switched to iPhone 13 pro last year. battery life is absurd even though Its battery is same or smaller than competitors. There was not one time I ever had even smallest stutter where as phones I've used turn into shit after one year or sooner especially samsung. Apps wont reset when you press home. it doesn't matter if you open in while its in the background for 3 days, its exactly where you left it. Camera is better than anything I ever used. my airpod pro, MacBook, and iPhone synced so well, they seem like one device. Airplay and air drop is godsend. texting from my computer is so seamless, do not disturb mode is automatically enabled and disabled across all my devices. I can copy a text from any of my devices and paste it on any of them. all these small things add up. cons for me are: you cant place icons at the bottom of the screen where your thumb can easily reach, lack of youtube vanced(but there is an alternative), price(but you get what you pay for)

I have a OP 9 Pro and iPhone 13 mini and switch between the two depending on my mood, but I always find myself sticking to Android for longer periods of time. I love the performance, integration, and optimization that iOS has, but it's an absolute pain in the ass trying to transfer music and photos/vids between the iPhone and my PC. I still prefer having actual music files over streaming whenever possible just because of audio quality and the convenience of having the song ready to go, but iTunes keeps glitching out and disconnecting the iPhone 99% of the time. OxygenOS may be a joke after the Android 12 updates, but the customization, split-screen apps, picture-in-picture just makes any sort of multitasking more fluid and enjoyable. As someone who has eagle eyes and enjoy high pixel densities, I also found the 9 Pro display to be much better than the mini's in terms of colors and contrast. I thought the smaller display would help with the lower pixel density on the mini, but I could still pick out the pixels time to time. Ironically enough, even though the 9 Pro has 120hz, either the dropped frames or latency makes it feel less smooth than the iPhone. Battery could honestly be a toss-up depending on priorities and cameras are so good nowadays that it's just stylistic preference, but with quirks on both platforms, I honestly just go with whichever one pisses me off the least in that moment lol

Now I use the iPhone 13 Pro and it is a breath of fresh air. I was worried about the notch as I was going from an OP7 Pro which had nothing on the display but the notch seems to disappear when you start using the phone. The other thing I was worried about was charging speed as OP used a 30-watt charger but the battery life on the iPhone easily lasts 1.5-2 days and the 20-watt charger gives you a pretty quick charge.

I am so happy I found your video. I am a 4th gen Samsung user I was curious about why people buy iPhones, so I purchased a silver iPhone 13 Pro a couple of weeks ago. I also was very much impressed at the unboxing, the quality and design of the box and the phone itself, a truly eye catcher. The screen is gorgeous (not as good as my S21) and the face recognition is absolutely marvelous. The battery life is great, much better than my S21. The size is perfect, and yep, on the heavier side. Charging is kind of slow (lightening connector), even with my new Anker fast charger. And after 2 weeks, having both phones on my desk, I still grab my S21 to take with me. Its a connectivity/productivity beast, and there is NOTHING I cant do with it. I miss the S-Pen though, I hope Samsung will make smaller phones with the Pen. I need to spend more time on my iPhone to get familiar with the strengths of iOS. Health management is surely one of them (i also bought an Apple Watch, which is absolutely fantastic, and made me retire my Galaxy Watch 4 right away) I dont own a Mac or an iPad, which doesnt help to appreciate the iPhone advantages. Although Android is my preferred OS, I still keep an iPhone around. I swear, I've genuinely tried using an iPhone, but iOS is just painful to use. From the way it does notification, to the way the settings page is organized, to the file system, to even something as simple as T9 dialing, I just don't think I can permanently switch. I recently upgraded my Xs (10s) to an Alpine green 13 Pro Max, and bought the sequoia green Leather case (I don't generally buy phone cases) in readiness to make the switch, but I didn't make it past three days. My SIM card is back in my Pixel 4XL. I've always loved Apple's hardware (owned an iBook G4 back in the day, currently own an iPad and use Apple TV for streaming) but iOS really needs to be tweaked some more before I can comfortably use an iPhone as a daily driver. I'm glad you're able to look past the "minor annoyances" of iOS. Enjoy your device.
@anam000902 жыл бұрын
Made the switch from Pixel to iPhone this year and the lack of T9 is bothering me SO much. Keyboard is also subpar imo. Also, camera's not as incredible as everyone raves - on regular iPhones minimum focus distance is 10cm. My Pixel 2 with a single camera could go way closer than that, iPhone just refuses to focus unless you're far enough so I end up losing tons of shots. If you have a Pro you get a macro feature but there's no reason why a regular 13 should be held that far away to not have a blurry image... But overall once you make the switch you'll eventually get used to it, especially after iOS16 comes out

I am an android user since android cupcake and like everyone else i decided to switch to ios this year, then after a few weeks got apple watch. I have never been happier with the integration of the two devices. I came from s20 and galaxy watch 4 classic its fine but the watch experience is meh at best is like just a digital watch. Since galaxy s7 never had the patience of customizing icons and screen layouts so customization in ios was never an issue. Lastly, the file system its was a bit to get your head around it as android has a more flat fs everything goes into one volume organized by folders but with ios each app has its own private space and since i have a NAS i just dump every thing there and use synology drive to get what i want. I has been almost 2 months and im not missing android that much

Do you feel that the fluidity and smoothness of the phone is hugely better on iPhone? Would you say your s20, with 120hz on, is 90% as smooth? 80%? I'm just curious. I need to go to the store and just try one out, but figured I'd ask. I don't find myself needing the customization and power-user features on android anymore. Don't multitask much, don't need to pirate things anymore. If iOS is truly so beautiful on the eyes as people say it is, then I will definitely switch.

it works, going back to apple . 13 or 13 pro. had it with the s22 ultra. keeps loosing my contacts on the phone, never had that with iOS, a lot of banks don't accept Samsung pay, I don't think google pay is as secure. doesn't automatically record cycling, sleep tracking isn't working properly. the list is increasing. apple just works. I have Mac air, iPad, so making sense to go back and I will buy the Apple Watch. especially since I came off my bike, the fall protection on apple is better.

Having experienced both OS, the iPhone is the comfortable choice. It may not have alle the Features some are wanting or even expecting but it’s the best for people that don’t want to worry about anything. That’s what I’m all about

In the apple eco system, your videos and photos are already on your mac as soon as u get home without uploading it to your mac (thats assuming if u are signed into apple id on your mac) 3)its way more convienent then uploading it ur self when they go to icloud way before u get home

I'm kinda frustrated with the current smartphone market. Still using my Oneplus 7T. Repaired it myself after dropping it. During the time I was waiting for the screen to arrive, I switched back to my HTC 10, which I was totally fine with, until Google decided to "ban" it. Idk what happened, but I can't log into any Google apps anymore. Google support told me to factory reset, but I rather switched to my OP. Would like to have a new phone at some point, the HTC taught me how nice it is to have a somewhat compact formfactor, a headphone jack, a micro-sd-card slot and whatever HTC does to the audio is also pretty cool. Only downsides were mediocre performance in games, having the screen brighter than minimum really puts a toll on the battery, so do games and KZbin. But as I'm on my phone too much anyways and kind of addicted tbh, it was very refreshing. Really wish that the smartphone market will return to it's former glory, some day. For now I'm probably using/repairing (also not updating) my OP as long as possible. When I'm forced to upgrade, I'm thinking about buying some old Android phone from eBay and rooting it or even using a custom rom. Maybe another HTC 10 or a phone with removable battery. I just wanna keep the data of my current phones though.

Love the video. Although for me the pixel phones aside from the fit and finish level, have been the smartphone experience I have ever had. I honestly just cannot get on with iOS, I find it frustrating and unintuitive by comparison to the pixel flavour of Android. I find that third party app integration into the OS is dreadful and how the notifications operate are handled to be shocking. The pixel experience is buttery smooth and I find the phone works around me and how I wish to use it with far less complexity. However this is just my opinion and others will choose to differ here. I have a MBP 14" but I can never see myself getting on with iOS.

Same, I mean it sounds like the latest iOS version is better than the one I used to use (10.3.4), but it still can't match Android's customization and file management. I still remember literally spending 3 hours trying to get a custom ringtone on my iPhone 5... I now use a Pixel 6 Pro and I'm not going back unless Apple changes some of iOS's quirks and gives me a good enough reason to. Btw how's the MacBook/MacOS compared to Windows? Does it work well with an Android phone? I use my (6 year old Windows) laptop for video editing, but the performance just isn't there and the M1 Max looks really good for the job.
@TuFacez2 жыл бұрын
@@jerrywu615 I agree, but you know what I love about the Pixel 6 that goes massively untold, is just how smart it is, the built-in AI services, combined with the Google services has got my by the claws, I just don't ever see myself leaving the Pixel platform, even if the phones just can't match the fit and finish of Samsung or Apple. It's so intuitive to my needs, that I would bet good money that no two Pixels operate in the same way aside from the basic operations. By comparison I find iOS rudimentary, although that is by design as their key focus is just simply integrating their iPhone to their network of devices and services, therefore Apple do not really have a huge incentive to reinvent their OS. Google on the otherhand is designing a portable platform as an extention to tightly integrate their AI and Google services, which uniquely positions themselves to reinvent the smartphone OS through ambient computing that tend to fade away into the background. Everything just seems to work without any form of resistance. Unfortunately there aren't any meaningful Android integrations to speak of, I just use Google's browser for Duo, Messages, Keep, Photos, Mail etc. I do miss Windows 11 (especially the Phone companion app) massively, I find it far more intuitive, however you just can't beat the 16" MBP M1 Pro hardware and the level of efficiency and performance you get from it. Just an amazing piece of kit. Not to mention the fit and finish (comparable to the MS Surface series).

I left apple on the iPhone 4S, 11 years ago, just recently got a used 12 Pro as main phone, really impressed, and suits my content production needs, wish I could upgrade to this 13 pro for better video and small details. Also, I'm waiting on a used MacBook Air m1, never used macOS before, going to be a challenge. Although I still don't appreciate apple as a company that much, since the 12pro and m1 chips they finally became worth again in my opinion and use. Cheers from Brazil! 🤘⚡

I was a long term android fan and user for the past 10 years but I switched to the iPhone 12 pro Max and haven't looked back it's way more superior in my opinion
@morbly2 жыл бұрын
This fits well with my experience, I even tried to switch to the s22 plus because I missed some android aspects but battery life, build, and my family's reliance on icloud and the photos app dragged me back in...that and AT&T's really poor customer service that couldn't port my number correctly and made me need to return the s22 in order to get rid of a second line. Anyway, I may have even been a little harder on the camera and files situation, lifelong iOS users don't know what they're missing, and I'll keep missing it because the rest of this phone is so good.

After about 9 years on Android I picked up a 12 Pro Max last year... iOS had changed a lot in that time. I now have a M1 Pro MBP, Apple TV and a Watch to go along with the iPad and AirPods I already had... I've been tech guy since I took a programming class in elementary school back in the late 70s and while I miss being able to tweak certain things I've never been more productive nor happy with my setup.

It won't be perceptible for a while, but in my experience, a hugely underrated benefit of iPhones vs Android is how iPhones are still pleasant to use (doesn't feel randomly laggy) after 3 years. Probably not much of a factor/concern for tech channels/reviewers, but for people who don't upgrade their phones every 1 or 2 years, it's a huge consideration IMO

@@i_roverlust It’s not over. Especially with Samsung. Maybe the more expensive ones work better but you won’t get a good android with 200€ or 300€. Anything more than that, I’ll happily spend right away 400 or 500 snd get an iPhone which works for 8+ years and has support for at least for 8 years instead of 1 - 2 month from release.

I don’t care much either way anymore (to me both OS’s simply have their own version of everything at this point) but I do like apples offering better now that I kept the same phone 5 years and it was still getting updates. I realized a while ago that all I do with my phone is takes pictures, text, browse and tweet so I don’t need the highest specs of a 500-1000$ device every year. Because apple makes their cut on App Store sales they’re happy to keep support up for older devices to keep their customers from jumping fence.

I have to get up in the middle of the night for medical reasons. My S21 alarm failed to go off more than once, which was more than once too many times. After 10 years of being an Android user, I switched to the 12 Pro Max. I haven't had an alarm fail to go off, or any other issues really, in over a year. There are limitations of this walled off ecosystem, enough that it's frustrating. I get it, Apple is hilariously anti-consumer to a level that could reasonably be classified as contempt. But this phone works, and I need it to work without having to tweak it or factory reset periodically. 13 series is great. Upgraded to a 13 Pro Max for trade + $200 at Best Buy last winter, killer deal. Same reasons you mentioned, 120hz display + camera spec bump mainly. Given the aforementioned reasons for me switching, I don't see myself going back to Google anytime soon. They are not the savior, their engineers suffer from the same altitude sickness inducing levels of arrogance as Apple, many people just don't realize it yet.
@andyH_England2 жыл бұрын
Apple are not anti-consumer, they are just protecting their business to avoid being the next LG, Nokia, HTC, Sony, Blackberry, Huawei, etc. This is a cutthroat business and if you do not close the doors you will be killed off by behemoths like Samsung, OPPO and Xiaomi, that will do all they can to destroy iPhones. Even Samsung has said that having wiped LG out they are now targeting the iPhone.

I was considering getting an iPhone 13 mini just because of its size and I came across this video. After watching it, I can certainly say I won't be switching to an iPhone. This video just reiterated the reasons why I never wanted to switch to an iPhone in the first place. Even though I've always wanted to get a phone the size of an XZ1 Compact and the 13 mini is the only phone that size, I realized comfort and ease of use without hassles matter more than just the size of the phone.

It really is all about the ecosystem especially with the new macs that have came out and the features they released (last year?) for easier airpods switching. Between my iPad Pro, my M1 MBA, my iPhone 13 Pro and my Airpods Pro, I can be doing something on my laptop, then easily pick up my tablet and walk to the couch and continue what I was doing without even taking out my headphones. I can also leave those two things where they are and continue on my phone as I leave. I can be texting someone on my phone and pick up my mac and continue the conversation without an issue. Taking phone calls while my phone is across the room because my airpods are already in and i'm already working on my mac is also something that is pretty cool. Those kinds of integrations are the reason I stay with Apple. That is not to say they don't make me angry or I don't regret the lack of customization sometimes but it is worth it for the most part.

You don’t need to clear all your apps in the background since IOS and the A series chips in iPhones are great at task management, so that the phone still runs smoothly without much battery drain or lag. But I understand you reviewing it from an Android POV it’s more of a habit thing too😂 most reviews I’ve seen so far is that the 13 Pro series is the most refined and best battery life/display/optimisation of iOS and the Apple experience and I totally agree.
