Omg. I can’t believe you sanded that entire floor with the hand sander, painted with a brush, sanded with a block, and put finish coat on with a brush. What a true labor of love!!! The final outcome is beyond perfection. The cottages are blessed!

I love the floors. They reminded me of being at my Grandparents summer cottage and I loved those floors too! I am 70, so I am going back many, many years! You have definitely earned a high place in Heaven after having hand sanded the floors after painting them. I completely agree about the sink. Grandma had the same kind and when I run into them now, oh the memories that come back. Sooooo good and now you will be providing those kinds of memories for the people who come and stay at your cottages. How special is that???? Congratulations on all of your hard work. I love that sink story. I have a similar one. I am a Christmas enthusiast and asked my husband if he would mind waiting in the car while I investigated a shop in a tourist town we were visiting because I saw they had Christmas ornaments. Inside I found just the angel ornaments I had been looking for but they were more expensive than what I thought I could spend. A few weeks later it was my birthday and my husband gave me a large gift. He had been traveling and drove an hour off of the interstate highway to go back to that town and go into that shop and ask the clerk to help him figure out which angels I had been looking at. Then he bought 20 of them to fill our tree. I was astounded and it still warms my heart almost 20 years later.

Love the white wash floor, brings me back to our farm when we had to white wash the barn on the inside . It made everything look so clean. I have a little bungalow that I want to make into a little cottage and often thought about doing white wash to our bedroom floors. I was so glad to see you hand sand the floor, I tell my husband that I could hand sand but he always wants to rent sanders lol!! I love to try different projects, and make something old, new again!! Oh Mary! I have rescued 2 claw foot iron tubs and incorporated them into my home. They ALWAYS take guests breath away. Now my husband and I have rescued an iron sink just like what you found and another one even bigger with the drainage sides on it. We plan to use the small one in our bathroom and the large one with the drainage sides will be used as my real life authentic farm sink in my kitchen! I love that you have a heart of rescue and repurpose for things of old. When people walk into my house, it takes them to fond memories of grandparents homes and a simpler time. This puts a smile in my heart!

I love the floors. We live in a log home and everything is wood, I keep trying to get my husband to let me whitewash either the ceiling, the non log walls or the floor so it wood be lighter. My brother in law gave me a similar sink that we put in the main guest bathroom, he works for a school district and they were replacing them from a science lab.

The floor's all look great, the white wash floor gives a nice look for the bedroom. The sink is so wonderful I would love to have an old sink like that one. Oh Mary. You are so blessed beyond measure ! Loved and adored. Kindred spirit with the previous owner of the sink who loved it as much as you. Reusing and refurbishing items sometimes just makes your soul so happy. It's a feeling not many people share. I'm 65 now and interior painting has always been my passion in life,but I'm slowing down. And that hurts my soul. With my natural talent and God's supernatural talent combined I've made many,many homes beautiful. But... I'm not gone yet. I just paint small pieces!
