Hi Malik. OMG, I walked there a couple times when I was following the path of the old Putnam Railroad line, as well as going to the High Bridge! Can you do a full cycling video by following the old Putnam Railroad line from 155th Street (where it started off at and where the Polo Grounds used to be located at) to Brewster, NY (where the Putnam Trailway ends at)?

Hi gma616, that would be cool to do. In a few years, a new trail is scheduled to run along the right of way of the Old putnam line in the Bronx between Randalls Island and Vancortlandt Park. So far, I have covered the Putnam line in a video from Van Cortlandt Park up to EastView Park pond along the South County Trailway. The northern most point I have reached so far is New Castle, but I definitely hope to make it up to Brewster sometime. The Empire State Trail ends at the New York/Canada Border but the North County trailway portion of the route ends around Brewster station on Metro North's Harlem Line

@@malikrthr1 Hi Malik! Thanks for reaching back to me! Correct me if I’m wrong, but I believe that the North County Trailway portion ends at Tomahawk Street (where the former Baldwin Place train station used to be at) in Mahopac, NY. And, once you cross Tomahawk Street, that’s when the Putnam Trailway portion starts off at. The Putnam Trailway portion ends at Putnam Avenue (which is kinda near the Brewster station on the Metro-North’s Harlem line). Idk about the rest of the Empire State Trail heading north towards the New York/Canada border portion on whether or not if it was a former railroad line. If so, please let me know. Cause I would love to explore that portion of the trail sometime.

@@gma616 You're welcome, it looks like I may have been incorrect. This part of the trailway (north county trailway) is also known as the Putnam Trailway. It ends at North Main Street just before continuing along the right of way trackage for the abandoned Maybrook/Beacon branch of the Metro North railroad east of Brewster station. You are correct, portions of the trail afterward run along the right of way trackage heading into Dutchess County. I haven't been on this portion but hope to do a trip up there at some point. I definitely enjoy this trail because lots of history can be seen such as abandoned sidings, station postings, rails and telegraph poles. I hope the Parks department can preserve the station canopy that exists in Vancortlandt Park.
