Harley Chizeled Lo on Sportster 883N Iron

General overview of the install of a set of Harley Davidson Chizeled Lo Handlebars on a 883. Lifted the tank up in the front (did not have to remove it) to get access to the wire cradle - one screw and it snaps open). Relocated the Blinkers. Removed the handlebar controls wiring (3 Amp connectors). Internally ran the control wires without removing the Amp connectors by wrapping them in tape, and then running aircraft safety wire threw the handlebars and pulling the wire threw with that (I did grease them up good too). Thinking about getting these for my 48. Hopefully i would only have to extend the brake line. Can these bars be pulled back a little more toward the rider or must they be in the fixed position like on your bike?

They can be pulled back or forth, you can adjust however you like. Just the brake line should do it. Harry

Brake line was only thing I had to replace. It was out of caution, you might get away with stock but really should replace that.

Where did you get the brackets to relocate the signals. What length break line did you order?

Turn signal kit is 68643-09, it says put on the bottom bracket, but works on top too. Brake lines are black diamond from harley non abs is 41800256 upper and 41800228. Got all but the lower brake line from ebay and saved quite a bit there.....but got lucky I didn't have to wait too long.

Just brake line...nothing else changed.

I can't find a link - They are Harley Davidson brand, Diamond Black line - You have to buy a upper and lower line. email me direct at [e-mail] and I can send you scan with all part numbers and sizes - instruction sheet that came with the brake lines.

Do you know, or maybe someone else in the comments know if you can put risers on these? By that I mean, lift the bars and speedo up another 4 or so inches.

No, these are about 5" rise only.

HD just gave me a quote on these, and they are saying I need all the wiring kits etc. how should I tell them I dont need them?

I guess to ask and see the wiring before they plug in the extension. With the Chizel Lo you will have plenty of slack in the OEM Handlebar harness and don't need any extensions. I did elect to put the extended front brake line, although I think you could get by without it for a while, it does not have the slack I think a front brake line really needs.

Stock clutch cable is fine, I have never replaced it and it fits great...throttle cables are also stock...and fit fine.

No, you just flip the mirrors you have, if you want the nut to look like the ones on the 48 you have to buy that from harley - $5 each
