I'm Glad they introduced this bike for guys like you but I'm sad they are discontinuing the old sportster. The Evo engine was the last classic harley motor with that awesome sound. I ride a 2005 Sportster 1200 this year and my only gripe is I am killing it with my sport style riding and it not having a good cooling system. Liquid cooling has been HD's missing piece in making a reliable engine. I am considering getting another harley depending on the other Sportster trim models they release rather than a Rebel 1100.

Great honest non biased review. I've owned the bike for a couple of weeks now limited riding with the PA winter weather but have almost 100 miles on her now. Been riding Harleys and cruisers my whole life and I have to tell you, this thing has a weird seating position with the forward controls. I have the mids on order can't wait to get rid of these forward controls. Our roads are pretty decent around here and I'm used to sportster stiff suspension so the ride doesn't bother me. The power is amazing love the bike wish it had some sort of storage compartment though to keep the paper work. I'll be adding the tail bag, engine guard, and wind screen to make her my own. Thanks for the review love your channel.

This review made up my mind about the Sporster S, endup buying one in NJ, was the first one on the state when I purchased…. Pretty unique experience. Felt in love after my first test ride. The rest is history…. Rode a few miles since then. A lot of questions I had about the setting and general things, not even the dealer was ready to answer it, haha since was so new, and they didn’t had any time with this model… now that I had a few days to reflect on this purchase, I feel that I made the correct choice. I just bought my first Harley Davidson a month ago. I started riding at the end of 2019 on a 2017 Yamaha R3 that I got with 1,000 miles on it. It was a great bike to learn on. I had a blast every time I rode, put about 5500 miles on it, and did a few motorcycle courses using it. I ended up selling it last month to upgrade and sold it for almost what I bought it for. In 2020, Harley released the updated Low Rider S and I knew i'd have one at some point. They touted it as a more sport oriented cruiser. With inverted forks, dual disc brakes upfront, and a relatively low weight compared to bigger cruisers, the HD LRS has blown me away. I'd be very interested to see what Chase and the team has to say about the Low Rider S. Coming off the R3, i'm surprised how good the LRS handles. I'm excited to see what Harley does to further grasp us younger riders. Thanks for the great content.

6:32 A low CoG is *not* conducive to maneuverability - it merely makes a heavy bike easy to pick up when you drop it. Maneuverable bikes invariably have CoGs that are quite elevated. The further the CoG is from the tyre contact patch ,the less lateral force is required from the contact patch to make the bike lean (rotate around the CoG). OC: great video! I think you are right on with the suspension. I switched out my stock shocks on my sporty with 13" Legend piggyback shocks, and it now rides smoother than my Ultra Limited. I almost feel its a waste of a shock to only have 2" travel. I would have gone 3-3.5" travel and perhaps make a seat with 2 positions for shorter inseam riders. I would have also gone with 2 rotors, because I do think people will ride this bike like they stole it especailly with that engine! Other than that I think this bike beats every bike in its class with performance and aesthetics. The Diavel and 1290 Super Duke are in a higher performance class. However, when that Rev Max Bronx comes out it may be time for people to replace their Biscotti Espressos and Weinerschnitzels for a Cafe Americano. I would be interested in comparing the dyno charts for the Biscotti, Weinerschnitzel, and Americano to see if the Americano hits its power band quicker.

OC Crew definitely see the sportster s competing primarily with the Indian scout and maybe ftr but the diavel and new rocket 3 are fair comparison’s as well as long as you recognize they aren’t the intended competitors

Update, nothing but problems so far! Had a no start problem and they said they had to replace the starter and bcm. Took it to the dealer for my 1k oil change and they broke it, all parts are on back order and the oil change was $330 🤦♂️

I never thought there'd be a day that I want an HD bike to the same degree I want other bikes I really desire like the R7, RS660, Daytona 675R, Bonnie Bobber, Spitfire Bobber and Six, but hot damn I'd love to have one of these once I reach the intermediate level of experience.

This bike needs work. Rear wheel suspension travel is 2 inches, add forward controls and a jockey seat equals uncomfortable ride.. heavy wheels and single disc brake up front is not sport and a horribly big exhaust. Again look at the seat
@LeGrandPleb3 жыл бұрын
@@johnengland8619 You just typed a whole lot of nothing (as far as replying to me goes) 'cause what's comfortable or good for you will likely be different for me. Seeing as how I've not ridden the bike, I can't just blindly agree with the supposed cons you're listing (other than the bit about forwards 'cause forwards are ass). Also, I love the exhaust and I typically can't stand the AA guns that come on most bikes thanks to all these bs regulations and what not.

I have a Nightrod with mid controls .. great bike but the mid controls suck, you feel like your squatting on the pegs .. being 6 feet tall I feel like I have to fold my legs up under me.. that and the pegs hit you right in the shins if you try and move the bike. I am in the process of trying to trade in the Nightrod on an S and one of the main reasons is the forward layout. I have a GSXR-1000 and a Hyabusa and they are both more comfortable then the Nigthrod (vrod).

Harley seats are always just kinda there as a placeholder until you can get a real seat. They're more there so you can see the motorcycle with a seat on it in the dealership and get an idea of what the bike looks like with a seat on it

Man I love my Evo Sporty, but this thing makes me so pumped! Once the aftermarket gets ahold of this new bike and all the crazy custom parts the Harley community makes starts coming around, this thing is going to be such a monster bike to rip. Edit: Also! Most people I've seen don't buy Harley branded parts due to the upcharge, aftermarket companies will make mid control kits for WAY cheaper.

I'd immediately slap a knarly drag pipe on this thing, high flow intake and a tune. This thing would ride and sound like a beast! and stay cool!

@@ZipKickGo Dude right! I'm honestly super excited to see what kinda crazy builds come out of this bike once the aftermarket for it has been well established

@@OkDude7861 Honestly for me, a set of pipes will be enough. That bike's more than fast enough for anything I'd ever want it to do. If anything, maybe a rear shock upgrade and call it a day.

I have an Evo as well. The only thing I’m concerned about is the Sportster S sound. I freaking love how the Evo sounds with V&H short shots. I don’t think this new engine is going to give me the same feeling.
@ZipKickGo3 жыл бұрын
@@cmfall1986 I agree with you on that, my Evo has drag pipes and it is knarly. But with the redesign of the engine from sohc to dohc, that gives it a lot more higher rpm capability meaning it will still sound loud as hell with aftermarket pipes but won't have that slower firing order sound we're used to. My best comparison so far is my buddies MT-07 inline twin. He has it straight piped and it's a touch quieter than my evo by about 500cc's. I think we'll enjoy the engines sound.

Chase you need to get some experience on the standard, older Sportster & bigger Harleys, to get a real sense of how different this new Sportster actually is, including some research on the whole drive train between this new one compared to the standard Harleys. Only by doing these things, can it be determined whether this new bike offers superior engineering. Yeah, I have asked for a lot. But this will be a worthwhile learning experience. Like you, I too, have reservations about their dealerships.

I do honestly enjoy the looks of this bike the only other bike they have ever made similar to this is the xr1200 Wich was only produced for two years. My biggest issue with Harley is their price they ask way to much for what they offer

The shaking you showed where you can hear it in you voice sounds a lot like tiers that are not balance. And a big meat tire out of balance would be a-lot more noticeable than a lower profile tier.
