You are so right: it’s all about the “emotional bond”. Motorcycling is all about heart winning over brain. I am sure the Nightster is more practical but it doesn’t make my heart race.

Nice video and I must say it was nice meeting and talking with you after you did your filming on the nightester, now I'm thinking of having a test ride but I'll stay with my sport glide thanks for the selfie also talking about how you got into biking

Personally own one and it's my first bike.. luv it, and wish it had a bigger clutch setup.. but for just getting into it.. rides like a pearl... have taken it up to 2 and a half hour rides in the backroads of Alabama with my cuz on his 2023 soft tail, and can keep pace with him easy just in road mode.

Good review. I think the sportster S will be more your cup of tea... you ain't a entry level rider nowadays! Hope you get a demo of a 1250 with a decent pipe. Kinda what everyone wants to hear? That shop looks great! LOVED the trick sporster at the end with the sick suspension and bodywork! Film that thing if you see him again!? Wow

Must admit it is very modern for a Harley. Sort of looks like a a touch of the V-Rod in there aswell.

Nice bike - one gear does all. However, I did take a shine to that late 60's Daytona retro racer shown at the end.

For me used to go all the way up to fifth every time on Iron when it was 883, it was a pleasant change. Probably my favourite feature of a new Nightster.
@adolfonovelli33206 ай бұрын
I have 883 too, with this bike if you change the exhaust (Dr, Jykell & Mr, Hyde, get maybe a customized saddle and maybe better rims -------it's a corker!!

Performance aside, the Industrial looking engine looks as if it would be at home connected to a water pump in a Texas Hay pasture.

Harley evolved and according to custom builders world wide it is much liked. I prefer the newer S version with better wheels and a few other things. These move along and handle quite nicely and Harley still have enough air cooled mills left for the haters. Want to stay in business then you need to evolve

It is undeniable that Harley have to modernise but I just think they have missed with the new bikes. It is just that bit off . When Triumph first brought back the Bonneville I felt the same . Just something wrong with the overall style and the engine looked tubby and not Triumph. They got it right with the new models and they are watercooled ! Same with Harley ,60 degree engine and overall looks of the engine are too Japanese to be honest. A 45 degree watercooled Sporty with more traditional feel and looks would have been possible ,they just did not do it. It might check out on paper but I am just not feeling it.

It's almost twice the BHP of an Iron 883 ... I've had 2 x Irons with Stage 1, and a 48 Stage 1, Street Bob 114, and this 975 rides plenty quick enough in S mode. The entry level would be an old 883.
@stevem47832 жыл бұрын
It's a lot lighter than all of those bikes too...a stock Nightster will run with a V-Rod, and that was the fastest Harley you could get. It's also a handler, the thing rips turns. I don't love the way it sounds, but after riding one, I was sold on the acceleration and handling dynamics.
@riotofmyown2 жыл бұрын
@@stevem4783 Same, I'm running in road mode all the time now. Quick enough and I quite like the sound of the engine, as that's what you hear - not the pipes!
@riotofmyown2 жыл бұрын
Power-wise, the entry level Harley is now the softail standard at 72bhp.
@stevem47832 жыл бұрын
@@riotofmyown Good luck telling Softail guys that. I sold Harleys for a minute, most of those guys are very in denial about the power/weight ratios of the Nightster and especially the Sporty S. You'll talk to guys who will swear up and down the Low Rider S is the fastest bike you can get, and amusingly enough, those have a hard time outrunning a 48 light to light. As I said, I love the Nightster, but I don't know if I can get over that sound. I don't understand why Harley didn't opt for a tougher sounding liquid-cooled setup...Indian did it, and so did Harley themselves previously with the V-Rods. It's a huge drawback for a lot of people... Hopefully some aftermarket pipe companies can make some progress, but after hearing a whole bunch of Pan Ams with different setups, I'm not too optimistic. Cheers on your ride.

Hi, thanks for the video. The Nightster visually i don't like it, it looks plastic, sanitised but i guess that's the way most new bikes are, if i didn't know better i would say they put a plastic mock up of an engine to hide an electric motor :) Don't mind me i'm just a dinosaur waiting for the Jonesy finale.
