I don't quite understand why you did the 2nd layer after you butt the first layer up to the sides? You're gonna have an overla regardless. Surely you'd just want to do the overlap first and be done with?

Hmm... you ended up pinstriping the edge of the overlay? Couldn't you have pinstriped the butt joint of the inlay?
