The usb 1 zip is / was larger than a single file. I tried 2 different laptops and usb C and usb A drives. Finally I decided to go ahead and use the usb 1 zip file and see what happens. PS. I am a Sr. Network engineer. I delete all zips previously download ... formated the usb c drives .. re downloaed usb1 and usb2 zip files, unzipped to drives and followed the directions. System software is now the latest as is the amp. .. and the bike doesnt see my hotspot ...

The key is to verify your SkyLine OS and AMP versions, System, Product Info, SkyLine Version. The Amp version can be found under sound and Speaker Setup.

Do can you download the update to a flash drive using you Android?

Really not sure. However as long as the drive is formatted exFAT and you can extract the folders / files to the root of the drive in theory it will work.

I did the first update since my only issue is wireless apple CarPlay disconnecting.did it on my Mac and it seems to fix the CarPlay issue , the skyline os completely updated with new menus and now the CarPlay seems to work fine , the RPM that didn't show before is now visible and the screen seems like it has expanded a bit , won't be doing the second update since I have no other issues with my bike.

I would caution that you will be 1 version behind so something to remember before applying a future update. Many have reported problems with the 2nd update caused by a Fat vs exFat format or a drive rated less than 200 mbps..

After my USB-1 update on my regular RG, it did not ask for USB 2. I discovered my audio did not work as the unit did not recognize my speakers. I tried readjusting all my audio parameters with no luck. I then tried re updating and it was not taking USB 1 again. I set the OS back to factory reset as well as the personal settings to factory reset. No luck FINALLY- I pulled the main fuse and that fixed it!!

I would try USB 2 now. Or verify what version your SkyLine OS is after update 1. In theory you need the second update. Pulling the main fuse continues to be the only true reset option for the infotainment system.

Just updated. After the first sequence the update failed and nothings working anymore. Black screen bike won’t start. I’m pissed off wtf

What others are reporting is that the USB Thumb drive needs to be at least 200mbps capable. There is a large file in update #2 that fails to transfer with this system. The Samsung I used is rated for 300mbps. I have more than one person reporting using a faster thumb drive allowed the update to complete even after the no software update available screen.

Updated and seems that the temp gauge looks different now as well. However, I was having issues with CarPlay dropping out and reconnecting. Now when it drops out, it literally locks up my phone. Did some research and found the Ask to Join Networks should be turned off. Mine was set to Notify. Going step at a time to see if it fixes itself. Next step will be to delete phone and re-pair it to the bike.

Question is.. is it worth doing this update? do the benefits outweigh the negatives.. luckily I use both iOS and Android Auto ( A.A) . so i can still useCarplay .. But if you only have A.A. is it worth updating and then having issue with getting A.A. to work ?

If you are an Android user I would not apply this update. There is nothing significant and I think most of the fixes are around connectivity to CarPlay.

Tom, great video and all went well...except I noticed that same issue with ride modes. After a restart, the Road icon is showing, but I'm unable to change it back to Sport which is where I like it. I'm hoping once I actually get out and ride it, I'll be able to change it.

Yes I think you will need to have the bike running to get it to change and possibly the ABS system has to kick in by riding before it will change.

Hello. I received the comecho box from eBay, and it was perfect. But all the issues you just described I am having. Bluetooth going in and out ect.. and I lost the ability to switch to my bike speakers at all. I did have it working, but it was very sporadic. So I uninstalled and reinstalled several times with no luck. I had to go into the codes reset and reset all my codes and reinstall just my phone and cardo, and my bike speakers came back. I guess for now, we can only hope Harley or someone else comes up with a real fix. In the meantime, I'll keep searching. Thanks for the update awsome as always. Ride on.

I have had no issues with the Camecho once I disconnected its built in headset. I now have to launch the AA app which I didn't have to before. No issues with music through the speakers..

@ITFZone I will give that a try. I tried so many things. Im not sure if i tried to disconnect it as a headset. Don't know why I lost my speakers (ghost in the machine). Thankyou

I did the update last night with no problems, I did format both USB sticks (they where new) before I copied anything to them, I think the format done at the factory may not be the best. I used 2x 128gb usb C drives from Samsung

Yep you are not alone, many are reporting no issues but not everyone!

I had a few problems. But did it my way and it worked. 2x 32gb drives formatted fat32 before using. Downloaded each file and extracted to folders 1 and 2 on desktop that I created. Copied contents of each the folders to a flash drive.

My update of USB2 failed. I tried a lot of different things but ended up taking it to my local HD dealer who has to call the motor company to have a info enterainment tech dial into my bike to update it. Took all day Saturday, but its all good now. USB1 updated fine. I did try the format of USB1 with USB2 files on it but no luck. Great video and keep them coming.

My USB2 update failed also. it comes up with an error that the software is not compatible. This was after the third sequence into updating. I have tried different computers to download the file and nothing. I did find that it is a VRdata file is the corrupt file on their server. I guess i am calling the dealer today.

update to my UB2 problem. I formatted using Exfat and reloaded the files. This time I did not get a file copy error and the system updated the USB2 flawlessly. Hope this works for you before call HD.

Fog lights and a cooling fan. This menu has been there from the first version. If you turn these ON without the accessories installed you will get DTC codes.

Yep if you are not an Android user I don't see any reason to not apply the updates. Not fully sure of really what bugs are fixed but not seeing any new ones thus far.

What a bunch of crap to go through just to get things to work like they are supposed to and STAY working. But at the bargain price i paid for my 23 model, i guess it's understandable. Maybe if i pay double to Harley for the bike, it would operate as advertised..

Unfortunately the more you pay the same you will get. Harley has really dived into technology and unfortunately it shows. My hope is this update will get us over the hump of the inconsistent experience thus far. I will say I am surprised by the early adoption, I really thought most of the Harley crowd would not be interested at all. The new bikes are a great ride for sure.

Unfortunately, my second update also did not work Same USB C that was used for the first update. The USB is recognized but will not load. I called Harley customer service and they had no one that knew what to do, suggested i contact my dealer.

Hmmm, they should have sent you over to the infotainment team. I would reformat the drive as exFat. Make sure you have 3 folders and the 1 files on your 2nd drive. Possibly we can connect by a video call and go through it. [e-mail]

I experienced this same issue. First update was quick and easy. It never asked for the second update and it won’t do anything if you insert the thumb drive. I reformatted the drive to exfat and reinstalled the uncompressed files but still no luck. The bike starts and it appears as though everything is working as it should.

@@jessej313 The bike will run but you would be 1 SkyLine OS version off and you would not have the amp update. I found if there are ANY additional folders on the 2nd drive it would not work, even though HD implies the extra folders it creates is ok.

My level of mechanical expertise is very similar to yours!! And I find it super satisfying and fun to service our bikes... My updates went smoothly (used a cheap Windows 11 Hewlett-Packard, instead of my preferred Mac); although I became slightly concerned when the final success screen disappeared by itself, before I hit the final "OK" button, as I was standing there to admire success for a moment...

No, I didn't. It cleared on its own. I waited and watched, then finally disconnected my USB-C drive. Everything seems to function well, although I've only been out a few times since the updates. I have never been back to the dealership yet (since delivery ['23 CVO RG] mid-September), and I haven't had a recent No Start, and not yet since the Infotainment/amp updates. Time will tell... I wonder what the M1632 update actually changed (like maybe the range of acceptable battery voltage to support starting?).@@ITFZone

I for sure notice a more robust start and a bit of a lean decel pop, actually really like some popping sound! But to me they did change some mixture settings. I still think we may see the starting issue reported and a more powerful battery appear in the '25's.@@RichardLMogermanMD

Try using a 16gb usb stick or smaller…. Sometimes if the usb is too large it can cause issues with firmware updates. Not sure if HD specified to use a certain size and smaller

No specification given but I would agree with you it is possible that a large volume could be a cause.

Harley actually recommends 32gb thumbdrives formatted to Fat32. Also, it needs too be a minimum of 100mb/sec speed.

@@jessej313 For the Pan America yes but ICFU they recommend: Ensure the drive is formatted properly for your device: IFCU/Skyline OS, Amplifier: exFAT Pan America/Sportster S/Nightster S TFT Gauge, GT/GTS Radio: FAT32 But experience varies for sure. If you drives are 32gb or smaller in theory the Fat32 format would work.

As always, well done and informative. So my question is this. At this point what is the best device option for pairing my Android Auto with my 2024 St. Glide? I think the other Camecho is the current best option. I am looking at some other versions to try out, key is Wired OEM CarPlay and touch screen support. Some have newer Android OS's built in, like 11 or even 13. CAMECHO A3361: amzn.to/49NurAJ

Thanks. I bought the one back in Feb. When installing I got as far as 'click on the CarPlay Icon. It was not highlighted on my screen and therefore could not get past that step? Will keep watching and searching. THANKS

This Camecho option requires a headset to be paired separate from itself to get the CarPlay icon to activate. I have another version on its way to test.@@MarilynHenderson-b3s

24 Street Glide. I ordered the Comecho no headset through your link. It should arrive today. I will let you know how it works. BTW, you demonstrate the interfaces on a CVO. The 2024 has an option for a touring display, which moves the gauge cluster to the left in a much smaller format, leaving more screen for the map. Does your CVO the same display option? I wonder if the Carlink display problem would be the same in the touring mode?

Went in today to get those latest updates installed, & if u remember in my last post regarding the update for the starting issue. Then, when leaving the dealership, my tpms icon was flashing & continuing to stay lit from time to time. Well, no more icon, or any other icon. Now they need to replace the complete ifcu. I have no infotainment system at all. That dreaded blue screen on computers, I've have now, the same scenario but the screen is negro. Lucky me, those Skyline updates have crashed my whole system. This, according to the dealership only happens in 1 out of 150 bikes. So they say. 2 days prior, I was at the dealership checking on the saddlebag tip over bars I had ordered & happen to be talking to another fellow 23 1/2 cvo owner. Happen to find out today, his bike was in the shop, for the very same thing. Needed a complete new ifcu install. And they say, (dealership) happens only to 1 out of 150 bikes. Maybe not. Be aware guys, we are the pioneers of this new platform of Harleys and the fact is, the pioneer term, really is a reality.

I updated my 2024 first USB fine then the second USB seemed fine, rebooted tried to do some update after that said xxxxx88 and it said it failed. I'm going to try again. It seemed to update most however just don't know what this “88” update does but it said an error

Tried again it says to update CAL_NAxxxxx088D and it just stops and says error. Tried a bunch of times not sure what that is but it errors out on 2024

Couple of other posts on this error. One reported after reformatting the USB Drive as exFat and re-copying over the 3 folders and 1 file it worked. If not what version are you seeing under System - Product Information, we are looking for: 240002237D

Yep I tried that - it helps but your speedo sits over the top of much of the map. The CAMECHO box is not having any issues but the CarLink is not negotiating the screen size correctly after this update.

It maybe because we're in the top 10 US dealers, but at my shop we definitely know how to do these updates. H-D will pay the techs to do it.

Correct any dealer has a service bulletin to follow to install these. But if they run into issues I don't think anyone knows at this moment what the fixes are.

Android Auto is no longer supported on any 2 wheeled vehicle. So I don't think your issue is going to disappear.

I would make sure that a faster USB C drive has been tried. I would also verify what your software version is after the first update. If it is current the 2nd update may not worth pursuing. But your dealer should be getting direction from HDMC here. @@sharkeymusic9165

@@ITFZone I was finally able to get it to complete the update. The faster thumb drive worked for the first two updates as I previously mentioned. I have been formatting the thumb drives on my MAC. I did get it to finally work for the final update by erasing the thumb drive and then formatting and downloading the software from a PC. So, I have learned that you need a faster thumb drive and you should use a PC for the software updates and formatting. At least that is what worked for me. Good video, thanks. Not sure if you have a video for this but what is the purpose of the WiFi? What does connecting the bike to my phone hotspot do? I can't think of a scenario to use it.

Ah yes, it is for the embedded navigation and offers traffic and weather overlay on the map. I demo this in my embedded nav video and my setup video.

Update successfully done on my 24RG by the dealer tech, he'll probably update my 23CVO later this week when he installs the ballast on the CVO. Before the successful update, the tech was unable to download the #2 files onto a thumb drive. He procured a larger thumb drive (the previous one was big enough, but didn't work for some reason) and then was able to download those files from the HD website. He used his #1 and #2 thumb drives to successfully update my 24RG and several other 23CVO and 24 models at the dealership.

Would love a photo of what the ballast looks like! Also would love to confirm if the governor is back to 120mph vs 99mph. Not sure what the issue would be with the drive size other than being formatted Fat vs exFat.
