Harley Sportster Forty-Eight Fork Boots/Covers Installation

A short walk-through of the installation process of fork covers and boots to help black-out the front of your Sportster. A lot of work just for a color change, but I love the result!

Dude really don't feel bad, this video is very helpful honestly, I also want to install these fork covers for my forty eight. Are these the same generic from Amazon? Or where did you got them?

Thanks my friend! Im glad it was able to help someone! Yes, these are a likely the same as the generic ones you'd find on Amazon. Just be aware that the black color never truly matches the factory gloss black on the rest of your bike. And, before you install them I would measure them and the gap between your forks. If you run into the same height issue that I did I would suggest slightly grinding them down if you have a bench grinder. I have plans down the road for my triple trees anyway so I wasnt too worried at the end of the day about the snug fit. Don't forget to subscribe and follow along!

@@tvsnatureguy nice, honestly that doesn't matters, I had a frontal crash and some parts were repainted but they looked awful so when I get the opportunity to restore the front end I will fix everything back to normal and paint the covers on the go. I'm also looking forward to install a 2" thick handlebar, you know someone who has done that modification?

@@chocolatlituulikki4485 good luck on the restoration! check out the link below to my handlebar video. However, its not specific to a certain size handlebar. Make sure that whatever bars you put on are 100% compatible with the clamps your handlebar uses to mount to the bike. if you are unsure, call a Harley dealer and ask them the acceptable diameters for your year and model. You could have backed the centre bolt slightly on the trees and created the space for the covers that way
