Nice 👍 I saw the 1st TopGun in theaters when it came out in the 80's....then saw TopGun:Maverick in theaters as well on opening day. To see the opening scene again like in the 1st one, was quite the goosebumps....no pun intended. Great song also.

TOP GUN was phenomenal; groundbreaking in its cinematography. I think, to make its sequel, required technology, plausible storyline, and a portion of the original cast from its universe. Penny Benjamin. Mentioned so quickly in TOP GUN, that her name is easily missed. And who would be cast as Penny? Jennifer Connelly is perfect. I love both these pictures!

Rooster and Hangman . Were we introduced to the next generation Maverick and Iceman? Ending left it wide open for Top Gun 3. Does Maverick take Iceman's place and finally accepts the promotions and become Admiral Pete" Maverick" Mitchell? After all Iceman told him " The Navy needs Maverick". After all Maverick turned down promotions so he could continue to fly.

In TG1 we see Maverick unable to engage after loosing Goose. But it seems IIRC that once they did get Maverick to engage again they forgot about Goose. Was his wife (Meg Rysan) around? ...at the end? Don't think so. I think they just eneded it with Cruise in the cafe and Kelly McGillis "Charlie" appearing again... IN TG:Mav in the clips we DO see a funeral service. Hammering wings into the coffin...nice touch. I guess that was for Ice Man....havent seen TG:Mav yet...ordering he 4k Bluray
