Mrs Slaw, got to admire your conversation in French with the vet. You both make the effort and the locals will appreciate it. Mr S your musical interlude was lovely, a man of many talents. You are the best travel /van chanel by miles. Don't change a thing. Absolument parfait.

Hello Slaw and Mrs. Slaw. Been following your adventures but not commented till now due to you not having enough time to answer all your comments, you're very popular you know.😅 However I had to comment on this one. We were in Tulle a few years ago and before the Nazis went to Oradour they massacred people in Tulle. Hung them from lamp posts and buildings. Because of Oradour Tulle seems to be forgotten. Oradour is so heart wrenching. Thank you for showing everyone guys. Love your banter. Smacky bum, bum is funny. Thumbs up thumped 👍 ....Pete and Su....🎉

We visited this place in 2022, it is so moving and so well preserved. To be honest the French really do look after their heritage and if people are interested in WW2 we would recommend the sites around the Normandy beaches Kay and Paul.

So sad to see the derelict village where so many people lost their lives....and all those poor children😢 must have been extremely emotional to have seen it all for real. On a brighter note, smacky-bum-bum will never be boring....according to my husband, and he would be devastated if it came to an end😂 another great vlog, thankyou for sharing it with us ❤

I visited there in March when I drove back from Spain. Like Mrs Slaw it’s a place that I have always wanted to visit, my visit was on a dank misty morning and it almost felt that it was the correct weather to match the surroundings. There were 4 coaches of French schoolchildren visiting as well; ensuring that the atrocity is not forgotten. I have also used the Camping Car aires, I am surprised by the variation between sites as regards pitch size, level of maintenance, facilities and if they are open and their location in regard to how close or far they are from a village/town etc. That said they are a useful addition to the other options and can be booked in advance which is advantageous in the high season.

That was a free Aire when I went there 3 years ago... but the toilets were wrecked, and the water didn't work, so it's probably for the better! 👍🏻🙂

Yes Terry, the Camping-Car people are rescuing a lot of those free Aires. We didn’t go in the facilities or need to take on any water though, so can’t comment on whether they’ve been improved or not. For it was location, location, location 🚍☀️

The Gulf Stream flows have slowed and the Bay of Biscay is only 16C this summer and in the past has been upward of 20C plus. This is the main reason for weather in France and Europe this year.

It’s was a brilliant idea to retain the village as a reminder of the horror of WW2. People are already using some of the rhetoric today used in the rise of the Nazi party back then. When I was young, and you only had council telly, they used to have a day when all the channels in Germany ran the same programmes to remind people of the things Nazis had done. We should never forget.

Thankyou for sharing your trip & visit to Oradour-Sur-Glane. We have it on our list of sites to visit in 2025 so v interested in all your advice. Thankyou also for your navigation guidance ‘’Autres Direction’ - we’ve made of n ote of that!! We’ve also received delivery of two easy read Atlas’s from the UK, (Europe & Britain) similar to yours & we are plotting our 3 months in Schengen, & then in UK, using them & big folding maps! Experience has taught us not to rely on SATNAV! To top things off you used the Camping car site, so we really appreciated your guidance on getting the card etc. The company will not send one to Australia so we have to get one at our first site! So….. Tick tick tick….. Thankyou Thankyou Thankyou 😊

Great video guys. That’s on our list to visit. Should happen in November when we leave the UK for 3 months. Looking forward to it. That camping car site looked okay. How much was it a night. A side note. I actually panicked when you had your tea and I saw the slender glass of wine hovering over a 2k Mac computer. Thank god it never fell. X❤
