I wish I'd had his channel to watch back in the pre youtube days as I made most of these gaffs and lost EVERYTHING. I was lucky I could go home to a family and friends, eat humble pie for a while and carry on with life. Otherwise, I may very well have done the balcony swan dive. I couldn’t agree with you more (on most things actually🤣) never put your eggs in 1 basket, always have an exit plan and way back to the UK/home country, and never ever buy property in Thailand (including bars) period unless you can afford to lose it, of course. Its Rent Rent Rent condos, villas, and definitely women etc. My plan is to retire comfortably in the UK first (3/4k a month🤞), which means you can live like a KING in paradise. Only 4 weeks to go until my next trip....😁

I do not care if you drink or not drink but your face looking full and healthy since you stopped drinking. I stopped drinking a while ago, tired of waking up tired and with headache. Hello Steve Enjoyed the reality check! I've just turned 66, living in Porthcawl, in good health and just about to stop work for good. My plan is to visit Thailand each year by myself for just 2 to 3 months. To be honest, if I retired fully over there, it would probably be in the Philippines for minimum 185 days and the rest in Thailand. Otherwise, my state pension would freeze and never go up again. Great analysis Webby of why westerners seem to fall short in living the dream in Thailand. Also I think many come here with Western values and concepts about love etc which are simply totally different in the way Thai's think about this sort of thing. 99 baht specials are good. Small portions, perfect with the heat and humidity. 👍+1 P.S. I've been on the wagon since November 1st 2023, I was level 1 cirrhosis, now down to level 1 fibrosis. Of course you fall off every now and then. The missus is on holiday for 3 weeks from Friday, so I'll be falling off during that. Keep it up, Steve 👍.
