ya know, its the realistic nature of your videos that keep me comin back. Just a real dude, out in the wild, havin a good time and sharin some recipes and thoughts. Also, here in america, people dont know about the Jaffle, and its sad. I only learned of them through relatives. You can do anything in a jaffle, I swear.
@CombatMosquitoTrainer Жыл бұрын
I didn't know that. I always assumed you guys invented them, you know, prospector, mule, beans and a jaffle iron kind of a vibe.
@utahjohnnymontana33734 ай бұрын
Over here (USA) they're hobo pies, among other names, and the Rome pie iron has been around nearly forever. Were they invented here? I don't know. Jaffle is just the Aussie version,

I always found it easier to butter the outside of the bread first but I guess that isn't an option here :) Jaffles are awesome, you can chuck all sorts of leftovers into them including pasta, curry etc. You can even do sweet ones filled with chocolate, toffee and all sorts of very bad things. Those are best made with brioche though.
@quikstop43473 жыл бұрын
You could always slather some butter on one side of the HB before putting into the iron. I often use spray oil as you can give food a light dusting before cooking...
@WesternAustraliaNowAndThen3 жыл бұрын
@@quikstop4347 Spray oil is really useful when travelling. We have had the odd bottle of ordinary cooking oil lose the cap and that isn't much fun.

haha as ridiculous as it sounds, leftover spaghetti jaffled between 2 garlic buttered bread slices, was a go to for me when I was younger. You really can jaffle just about anything.

50+ years ago when camping with mates, my father dropped me off. Whilst unpacking, Dad gave me a jaffle iron, cans of SPC spaghetti and SPC baked beans along with a block of cheese. My mates begged me to make more. I said, "what have you got to add"? They did. A great camping trip, but never tell that at 15 we were served beer at a pub 5 KLMs away. 🙂

Ohh you are cruel. I am on a diet and I love Jaffles and Hash Browns. My favourrite Jaffle is baked beans, mix in some worcestershire suace and then use frozen puff pastry for the outer. OMG!!! Well back to the shakes and green veges 😞

Salt on tomato pushes water our via osmotic pressure therefore concentrating the flavour.
@mattault99793 жыл бұрын
I believe adding salt directly to tomatoes causes a reaction that creates MSG. Or rather more MSG than is already present in tomatoes. Thats why its tastes so good.
@DonegalOverlanding2 жыл бұрын
Tomatoes already have MSG in them, you don't need to add salt to have MSG in them.

A Jaffle is the Australian name for a closed toasted sandwich. The name came from its creator Dr Ernest Smithers, from Bondi in NSW, who created and patented the Jaffle Iron in Australia back in the 1950’s. He named the device and possibly with a view to it being similar sounding to the Waffle iron as the design between the two devices isn’t that different.
