The 6 Most Powerful Hogwarts PROFESSORS in Harry Potter (RANKED)

Hey everyone,
Welcome to another installment of harry Potter theory. In this video, I’m going to be discussing those responsible for educating the youth of the wizarding world - I am of course talking about the professors of Hogwarts. In the past I’ve made videos ranking the most powerful Slytherins, Gryffindors, Hufflepuffs, Ravenclaws, Death eaters, Order of the phoenix members, and even Aurors. You guys seemed to really enjoy that type of video, so today I’m going to be ranking the most POWERFUL professors of Hogwarts school of witchcraft and wizardry. Where I normally do the top 5, I felt that in this particular case the TOP 6 would be more fitting-as many of Hogwarts professors are- in my opinion- very evenly matched. I also want to mention that just because a professor doesn’t make this list- it doesn’t mean that they aren’t POWERFUL- it just means that they are, in my opinion, NOT one of the 6 MOST powerful.
The professors of Hogwarts have arguably the most important role in the entire wizarding universe- as they are chiefly responsible for educating the youth of the wizarding world. Without them, witches and wizards would have a much harder time developing and honing their spells and abilities. You’d be hard pressed to argue that the wizarding world doesn’t need an educational body- and I think that things would be FAR WORSE without it. Similar to the education system in our own world- it helps students figure out what they’re good at, and provides them with some guidance with regards to a path that they can follow. Additionally,I think that it’s safe to say that the professors of Hogwarts go above and beyond in their role as teachers. Time and time again, the Hogwarts professors have been shown to provide a level of care beyond what is traditionally expected of a teacher/student relationship. Not only that, but the professors of Hogwarts (a lot of them anyway) are EXTREMELY talented witches and wizards that could be doing any multitude of jobs- but instead, they remain at Hogwarts so that they can impart some of their knowledge on to the next generation. So who, you may ask, is the most powerful of these noble figures? Let’s dive in to it.

@@nickdentoom1173 not necessarily. Occlumency would be keeping people out of your mind. Legilimency is getting into other peoples’ minds. Snape was an incredible Occlumense, but not as adept as a legilimense although still very proficient.

Snape was using Legilimens on Harry, because the end goal was to teach Harry Occlumency, which Snape was an expert on. As odd as it sounds, Barty Crouch Jr. deserves a spot on this. He may have been a death eater, but he absolutely taught the class amazingly. He had sinister motives, but his students learned an insane amount from him. And he was exceptionally powerful.

Maggie Smith and Alan Rickman are easily the best actors in the movies in terms of portraying their characters, but I’d argue that Daniel Radcliffe was also really good at portraying Harry Potter, especially in Order of the Phoenix. Also I can’t remember her name but the actress that played Dolores Umbridge also played her character perfectly

Let’s not forget the fact that Slughorn new information about one of Voldemort’s most important secrets, Horcruxes. Slughorn even suspected that Voldemort would want to kill him as his first ever meeting with Dumbledore and Harry pointed out as much. The fact that he was able to survive, where others like Igor failed, I’d say that’s pretty damn impressive.

During Dumbledore and Voldemort's duel in the order of the Phoenix, Dumbledore was holding back but Voldemort was not if Dumbledore wanted to kill Voldemort he would have easily. I'm sure some people would disagree with me but its cool.

Problem is Dumbledore suspected Voldemort had ways of coming back. He already had Riddle's diary (a horcrux). He thought there might be more. So Dumbledore knew he couldn't kill Voldemort at the Ministry - not until all the other horcruxes had been eliminated.

Feel like Barty Crouch Jr should be number 6 over Remus. Death eater or not he still taught at Hogwarts for a year and was very skilled despite how little we see of him. He managed to take down Mad eye moody (despite him being past his best he was still extremely skilled) and impersonated him accurately for a year and was key in helping Voldemort come back to power. He’d have had a major hand in forming a rudimentary body for Voldemort and his knowledge of the dark arts was matched by few in the death eaters. Just my opinion tho :)

I might have switched Snape and McGonnagall, but then thought about it. When McGonnagall challenged Snape after finding out that Snape killed Dumbledore, he wasn't fighting back. He had no intention of fighting her and was defending himself by deflecting her magic.

I also agree that Professor Slughorn was also one of the most powerful professor because he can create Fèlix Felices or Liqiud Luck which is typically one of the hardest potion to make in the whole Harry Potter franchise.. So that proves that he is an outstanding potion master.. And he is also powerful enough to be able to change his memory so I think that makes him a powerful wizard and perhaps the only proffesor that My fave character trust.. The only wizards that Voldemort trusts..

I agree that Barty Crouch Jr. is indeed a very powerful wizard. I always wonder how Barty was able to capture Mad-Eye and keep him prisoner for a year. The guy always sees everything that's going on around him right? He can even see through doors. Nothing goes unnoticed. There is no way Barty was able to sneak up to Moody. So was Barty able to overpower Moody? If so, then yeah, Barty Crouch Jr. is a very powerful wizard.

I don't know if this has been discussed on the channel but in one of the books (The deathly hallows I think) harry is holding three wands and sends stunning spells at someone and 3 stunning spells hit the person having a stronger effect. This begs the question, Why aren't wizards walking around with multiple wands at a time so they can send multiple spells at once doing more damage?
