I found someone on the ladder playing the marine challenge and what he did is using the barracks as walls and produced mass barrax pushing the map forward granting him some safety stablishing extra bases. He almost didn't build ad ons, very weird but granted him with a lot of walls

I love the classics, marine only makes me happy. Charge lots, Swarm host, ling flood, BC, cannon rush any day of the week. End of the second game was just good old fashioned fun, your opponent can't even be tilted by 2 unit composition... unless they think Yamamoto Cannon IODIS 😉

I'd like to see the viability of some early game zerg shenanigans. Maybe mass dropperlords, proxy hatches in their nat, or proxy static defense plays with overlords dropping creep. GGs and keep up the good work!

A single proxy hatch is viable on the top level, but overlords dropping creep requires lair, so obviously way too late for proxy static.

Insanely good games, this is exactly what i love about Starcraft. The Decisions about where to move when + perfectly juking your opponent to get units when you greed the eco yourself and getting some nieche strategies to work due to just plain blunt force! Keep the content coming Captain!

BGMWSS Challenge - I call it aged cheese. The idea is to use a cheese build but hit at a slightly off normal timing to throw off the opponent and their reaction. Even a 5-10 second delay will really mess with people at your MMR so it doesn't have to be a crazy long delay, use your own discretion for those rules. Mind games using fake tech and early units to disguise your delayed and wonderfully aged cheese are obviously allowed. Also as a side note you are a true champion of content creation. Your free flow thoughts and commentary with fun but informative Hamster edits are the best in the game. Thanks for the many laughs!

So close to 100k! I've played the toddler versions of SC like Halo Wars and Ashes of the Singularity: Escalation. I truly can't comprehend the skill it takes for this kind of gameplay when I panic seeing AI rushing my halo base at 1min. I've been practicing though! Maybe medivacs but they're not allowed to leave home or other dumb stuff. Hate how limiting this is. It's called beating, not losing to, GM with stupid stuff. I enjoyed the battlecruiser transition. If you can play mass marines for 10m and still be in a position to win... do whatever it takes, you've earned it.

New Idea: THE FAKE UNIT COUNTER TRIGGER. E.g. build one fast Battle Cruiser and attack enemy. Then use the jump ability to return to your own base and kill it (!). Now build only ground army. Imagine a zerg building corrupter or hydras while your tank army rolls over it ^^. Also the enemy will invest / waste money into stationary air defense. Enemy will also wonder where the BC went and always have the risk of it attacking somewhere in his head ^^

Another stupid challenge: in honour of hero's new style, get 2 twilight councils to get blink and glaves at the same time against zerg and go for a bunch of gates (you can decide how many) and hit a timing with blink glaves. If that's too easy, go for 3 at the same time and mix in chargelots. You can either use hero's fast expand to go for a fast third, fourth, so on or just finish the game with the timing. Would be fun to see this.

BGMWSS idea: 1) Wings of Liberty Build Orders only- Terran edition. Revisitting this idea but with terran instead, you know the drill. Build orders such as the iconic MMM ball, the fan favorite TLO 7rax rush with no addons marine push, and the million variants of Korean allins. 2) The defensive Protoss upgrade rush; Similar to the prior Terran +1 upgrade video, except with Protoss and rushing Defense/Shield upgrades, no attack upgrades allowed the whole game. Trying to deny enemy upgrades should be hilarious as your damage output will suck, but should be hilarious to see how fights go without attack upgrades.

Apparently getting reactors actually slows down marine production. I looked it up before and the fastest max out on Marines happens with 4cc (fast triple cc opener with 3 as orbitals) and 12 rax and no gas or reactors whatsoever Fastest max out time I saw with that was 7:34

This may be technically correct, but is misleading: you're maxed out, but on 0/0 marines WITH NO STIM AND NO COMBAT SHIELDS. What you're probably seeing here is a complete lack of gas mining leading to increased mineral income allowing increased spending. Reactors very clearly increase marine production in a cost-efficient way. With a single refinery (75 minerals) you can support an arbitrary number of reactors which only cost 100 resources and provide the same benefit as a 150 resource rax, with a shorter build time. You do have one thing going for the speed argument, which is that while the rax takes 46 seconds to build, you have to double the 36 second build time for the reactor because it is taking up the production queue of an existing rax for that time, which is why reactors slow down production IF THE ONLY THING YOU CARE ABOUT IS MAX OUT TIME. The problem with this build order is that you end up with trash units (unupgraded marines), and it is very resource inefficient both in terms of spending more money for the same infrastructure capacity and in terms of having less total minerals remaining compared to gas (you can't convert that gas to minerals later). It's an impressive build on paper, but it will get stomped by the build Harstem showcases here because with upgrades his marines will simply be worth more individually and collectively than your marines, even though you have more of them.

That is a misleading characterization, what is slowing down maxouts is mining gas, as you want to get the CCs asap. But in a real game against an opponent, where you need gas to get upgrades/hellions to have a viable army and put pressure on your opponent, you already made the refineries and you can't mine directly from your third CC anyway. Pulling out of gas after getting stim and combatshield going won't benefit you as much as your mineral lines are already getting saturated.

For a future video, how about trying to keep your opponent on 2 base. Then build lots of orbitals, and drop mules on the opponent's 3rd and 4th mineral patches to mine them out. Bonus points if you can mine out the opponents 3rd and 4th before they are able to take it. Extra bonus points if you also drop mules on the opponent's natural

How about a protect the king challenge? You can play however you want but at the start of the game you have to assign 1 worker as your King. If your king dies you have to tap out. You may hide it or protect it however you want. ^^

I'd like you to try this jump from early to late game units with the other races. Zealot/stalker directly into Tempest/Carrier. Or ling/bane into brood lord/ultra. It seems like a viable strategy if you can survive long enough to jump up the tech tree.

Ling/bane into ultra is pretty standard play, you don't make any units inbetween when going ultras, other than queens. The other suggetsions won't really work on high enough level. The stalker into carrier basically only works if they either go swarmhost or lurker, but not against the by far most common response which is ravager baneling.

I wonder if a similar build has potential. Imagine going gasless at the start, using your barracks as actual fucking walls, skip armor upgrades, but switch to medivac for healing and lots of drops. Planetaries everywhere after first two/three bases. Then after plus two attack starts researching, push all gas exclusively into BCs and surprise all in. Your opponent will have nothing but ground, warp in and snipe the spire with BCs while marines hold with planetary and WALLS. If his lair dies he can’t build spire and better hope you can’t kill his thingy that builds hydras, which I can’t remember cuz I’m too high, and BOOM win the game. Medivac healing > armor upgrades, just be Clem and be everywhere at once with drops

Some types of old games I ahve had is like go pure mode... Pure mode wins are base unit Mass push... no other units... Terran Marines - typically easy Protoss - only zealots. Zerg, only - zerglings... You just infinte spam them... the point is to just have those units and not tech, maybe upgrades... clusters benefit form upgrades verse ... a single unit.. the culmilative total goes down.. There was a chart long ago.. where x unit group upgrade at this tiem benefits the most.. the larger the cluster its better, but there are optimal times to do it... Zergling are great for all sorts of things, mostly rapidly destroying buildings... we oftne build walls to wall off our opponenets for thsoe reasons... but... can they really stop... the horrify power of the all ground all in... its kind of fun when your bored... droping reeavers is fun... peopel don't play with those untis oftne because they are squishy... cannons... bascially. and there are other units a bit better, if the attack speed was increased perhaps better. Of course there is the walker untisfor protoss where I have seen people proxy in and rus hin one of those lumbering units, but you need a specific map... so it cna harrass and scale up cliffs. and hopefully there is no air yet.. but pretty fun... burnign all those workers ot death.. as it scales up a cliff. The very late game units take quite a bit of time to get out... and more oftne people would stop at Dt's or Immortals... then robotics facility.

Interesting idea, but at this level where Z's typically have banelings on hotkey and move command them everywhere so they're not likely to blow up on random stuff, it's unlikely to work. Not to mention that to get to the level where Terran can afford to manner MULE at every engagement the Zerg will definitely have a substantial bank by that point and can afford to lose dozens of banelings on uneven trades.
