Dr. Klarman's work should be a staple for any economic curricula. This "frames" our understanding of politics, policy, and how the US implemented Democracy all of which has contributed to the imbalances and inequities we are seeing play out in the US today. When you layer in Chomsky's explorations of how US policy has been extended to the rest of the world, we now have a more complete understanding of our current state of affairs.

@@qarljohnson4971 this is true though. People tend to choose bad leaders. Their must be a balance between democracy and aristocracy. The people can easily be deceived. If i won educational institutions and the press I can deceive the people into electing leaders that serve my interest. At least in Geroge mason's ideal world one knows that the elite are to blame.
