Okay, who else can't wipe the smile off their face after watching this video? I know Im not the only one. So happy the harvest season has come to an end because you all worked really hard to get here. I have to admit I learned a lot from this series. I know the work doesn't end with harvest so I'm sure there's a lot more to come but I hope there's a little time left for you to enjoy things outside of farming. You all are truly an inspiration and consistently model what team work looks like. Hats off to mom and dad for instilling this ethic in you. It will serve you well going forward. Thanks again kids and congratulations. Now for anyone who has read this far and has not yet clicked on that little thumbs up button at the top please take a second to do so and share it with someone you know. This will help these kids channel grow and bless thousands of others at the same time.

You all did an amazing job of explaining things really well. The camera work was excellent as well. I also enjoyed the laughs you gave us in each video I watched. Congrats on the end of harvest! But I know the doesn't mean the work ends :). It must be intensely gratifying to your dad to have such great employees. You all need to sell the old grape leaves as "stress releafers" for people to crush for that satisfying feeling! Also, I know you all are growers, not vintners, but it'd be interesting to provide grapes to do a test batch of Eiswein (in German, literally ice wine), whereby grapes are left to freeze hard, then thaw and process for wine as normal (ie ferment). It makes an intensely flavored wine of lesser amounts, so it's typically more expensive and sold in half bottles.
@CJfarmGrit3 күн бұрын
“stress releafers” 😂 Yes, our parents bought acreage long ago that already had wine grapes. They’ve definitely did the hand harvesting crews of wine grapes for ice wine… specialty winery (half bottles), etc. That acreage has since been pulled out and planted to juice grapes

I’m not even a farmer (though I wish I were 😉), but your weekly videos keep showing up in my recommendations. You’re truly bridging the gap! It’s fascinating how just a few meters can have such a big impact on grape yields after a spring frost. So, what’s planned for the winter season??
@CJfarmGrit3 күн бұрын
Thanks for the note. Great to hear that, like so many tuning in, you found you don’t need to be a commercial farmer to follow along. YT algorithm has been amazing for our channel, as well as a lot of retirees tuning in! There’s year-round work with permanent crop. If I tell you, you won’t have any reason to tune in! 😉 So stay tuned!

Very interesting about the desired Brix reading! In coffee (which is more my field) 15° brix would be a nice baseline for harvesting basic commodity coffee cherries, with high grade (speciality) coffees hitting well above 20°, and in dry regions sometimes even 30°.

Congratulations on finishing the harvest! Well done guys. Your sprinkler removal tech's anti spiderweb device was clever and effective. At 22:20 - That is the first time I have ever seen a bunch of grapes wearing a high vis jacket. Just to let you know, I stood up and saluted at 25:40 when the band was playing. 8^) Liked the Tyvek group dance number at the end. This was a fun video, I enjoyed it! Hi CJfarmGrit fam!! 👋 Congrats on the completion of organic Concord grapes harvest! Back in October. Thanks for all the stats on the loads for the semi (Kentworth 😉😆) and gon-doe-las (oui oui) amounts. Funny, you must have ESP because as I was watching the video, I was wondering what or how much crop loss? So you covered it in the video... sorta. 😉😆 You covered it! I saw the geese, assuming they were geese early in the video and again, you used your ESP and showed them again but I guess they had their GPS set wrong, they were going the wrong way! Instead of heading south for the winter! 😂 Helicopter fly over was cool. And I want to say to your brother, wtg on being a good sport and participating in the grape dance ending!! 👍 Everybody's shuffling! 😁 Thanks for the reply on the previous video on clarification of siblings and the kind words, it means a lot to me! ❤ tc gb 🙏 btw wish I could smell the grapes in the crisp clean air!! 🍇 see you in the next vid! Really love your videos; editing and production, info on everything from overall operations to repairing stuff, winterizing, etc. Love the family unity and camaraderie, individual personalities and abilities, willingness to work and learn each job, bloopers and of course, the grape boogie. Would you be willing to do a video on the farm's backstory? How long it's been in the family, how your parents managed with 5(?) kids, how the machinery is maintained, etc. Seeing as how harvest is over and now you have all this spare time on your hands.

I tried taking a deep breath to smell the grapes but just smelled my coffee. If you park the semi with the tractor turned a little away from the side you are loading, there is less risk of brushing the unit as you are leaving with the tractor. We always lube the cables of the winches with penetrating oil like WD40 or something similar and the cable will be much more limp over time and will last longer. Where I am at the grape people wait till the grapes have frozen at around 10 degrees and then pick the grapes for ice wine.

How much of profit you make from these farms... You have so much of machinery... I guess operational cost of these machines is something to ponder about. I am also in the process of mechanized farming. We are waiting for snow here. It is getting colder and colder. Snow will bring relief now. We're done with harvest now. Time to rest😅😊 Our farm is 1.5 acre. Yours is an empire... 🤠😎 We also used to get excited as children when we used to see helicopters above ..... Keen eye! Once we weigh in, it doesn’t matter for profits though. Dad thinks that some guys close it too soon, depending on who’s working, but then he said they all scrape off and go in to the tub when it moves back

Ok, so, in my opinion you guys should do like 14 min x 2 instead of 28 min. 28 min can be too long for plenty of people. For example part 1 14 min and part 2 14 min. It can help with visualizations. Give it a try and check your viewer engagement. You might have more visualizations with 2 videos of 14 min instead of 28 min. I'm not saying don't do long videos, but instead, split them.
