That was such a cute interaction! It reminded me of the other day I was at the garden centre to see what sales they had, and my husband got this look in his eyes when he saw a guava tree..... Now, I'm usually the one to go gaga over plants and he's supportive, but when he saw that tree you could tell he really wanted it...... So we got it - even though neither of us have ever even tried a fresh guava! 😂 We just need to make room to bring it inside over the winter.. here.. in Canada..... 😂😂

This summer I’ve especially enjoyed watching as your gardening has evolved-taking care of pollinators, creating micro-environments like the pond, releasing predatory mites, new farm to table like growing wheat and milling wheat. I used to do this as well since my skin is so sensitive. I finally threw in the towel and bought disposable latex gloves that live in a kitchen cabinet for just this purpose. 🔥🌶

@@jillette7490 So smart! I keep a box of nitrile gloves for all kinds of dirty jobs in and outside of the house. I'm not opposed to dirt under my nails but I don't like it so I use them to dig in the dirt too and when potting things up. Keeps my hands clean.

I so enjoyed watching you make the salsa and actually sitting down on the patio eating it together in the shade and breeze. It made me relax and I realized that we don’t see you sitting and enjoying your spaces. You mention that you hang and sit at times but I now realize how much I would enjoy seeing snippets of pics of you sitting, playing with the kids, going on pleasure rides in the gator, etc. - the joys of the harvest! I love your family and how hard you all work. I didn’t realize til now how I enjoy watching you relax.😊

I live vicariously through you and your garden! I live at 9,000 ft elevation so don't have a long enough, warm enough growing season to grow food. But boy, it is still so satisfying to see everything you harvest and I just imagine that it all tastes so amazing. I think, like Aaron, I could make myself sick eating too much of that beautiful salsa! 😊

I bet that’s a great feeling of accomplishment! Digging potatoes… my mom voluntold the 4 of us to help my grandfather dig potatoes. We did it early (what every teenager loves) so we didn’t have to do it in the blazing heat of the day.

God has blessed you with a beautiful vegetable garden this year. My mom and dad would plant 10 long rolls of potatoes. I remember watching as the tractor would dig up the potatoes, and we would start squealing and clapping our hands as the potatoes were pushed from dirt. By the end of the day, we were tired,hot, and ready to rest after picking up bushels of potatoes. Your salsa looks good 😊 I think Aaron would give it a big thumbs up. 👍

Garlic, cumin and black pepper are the only differences I do to my salsa. Sometimes I’ll throw in a sweet pepper too. Laura you need a large food processor too, Aaron order me one of those for Laura please. 😂. Amazing harvest. Laura, you are amazing working out in your garden to harvest in the high temperatures. I wilt when the temperatures get that high. Your harvest always amazes me with how much you produce. We have to grow most everything in raised beds due to the gophers. I live in a zone 8, southern CA mountains at about 4700 ft. Eventually we will continue to create more raised beds to expand what we can grow. My son is the chef in the house, and he loves to go out to our garden to get the ingredients he needs for what he is cooking. Your salsa looked delicious! I learn so much from your videos. I discovered your channel a few years ago when I was searching for "what to plant in urns" after my husband bought 2 black urns for our front steps. You made an obelisk out of embroidery hoops. I have just a very small garden, but it is so satisfying to grow and harvest your own food! My husband planted some Huckleberry Gold potatoes for the first time this year. He dug some up last night to take on our camping trip. Can’t wait to try them!!

Using fresh is the BEST. Tip for your pico. I use a spoon and scoop out the seeds. Less moisture and it lasts for a few days in the fridge. Yum!
