The Mickey mouse in front of Paris, France has a deeper meaning. The statue of Lady Liberty that stands in front of New York, USA was a gift from the French. And in return the French got a statue of Mickey Mouse in front of Paris, France. Then there is an Arab guy, taking off his NIKEs, stepping onto a carpet and praying in front of an oil field. Then there's also the Indian fellow lighting up a Lucky Strike cigarette.

Its about American corporate imperialism which is also propogated by the US military imperialism as well. The video shows signs of it throughout, many signs which aren't always caught in the first few passes through the video. The obvious ones were the fast food references in Tibet, Africa etc. The Nike shoes the muslim slips off before kneeling on his rug to pray with the oil wells in the background. American TV being delivered to the Arctic to influence even the most remote of places. The Japanese guy sitting on his American motorcycle and taking on an American iconic look with his hair and the way he dressed. The man in the turban (presumably Indian?) smoking cigarettes likely made in the US. Santa Claus of course is a commercial creation to boost commerce during the holiday season in the West...but now coming to an African nation near you. Then of course there's Rammstein the group performing on the moon with an ode to the conspiracy that the moon landing was faked (putting together the fake flag/guys taking their helmets off in outer space/footprints that were in the background that the first astronauts hadn't walked to yet etc.)...the space race was of course important at that time to prove that American capitalism was superior to the Russian communist way of life. You caught the reference to Mickey Mouse/Disney media which influences the world over. And of course the lyrics add to it: the US wanting to "lead" the dance, and even if you don't want to dance you're going to be influenced by the White House. Coca-Cola is massive throughout the world of course. And the line "We all live in Amerika...Amerika...Coca-Cola..."Wonderbra"" (play on the word wonderful)...., and then the second time the lyric is "we all live in Amerika...Amerika...Coca-cola...SOMETIMES WAR". And that last line says it all. "This is not a love song....this is not a love song" with footage of the North American indian which of course were wiped out in a genocide when the Europeans came across to take the lands and plunder the country for its fur, sugar, etc. etc. - all a commerical enterprise of course.

The part where it is sung: we form a lovely dance is not translated correctly. The word used "Reigen" is old German and means something like a circle of people. We form a loving circle of people, freedom plays on all violins. Africa is visited by Santa Claus and in front of Paris is a Mickey Mouse.
@olgahein43847 ай бұрын
Reigen is more like a group dance, in a circle.
@marcelflow31217 ай бұрын
@@olgahein4384 The term Reigen has more to do with places of worship, or when you have acquired a new status. An example: In the past, if you went from apprentice to master, you would also be accepted into the local "REIGEN" of your craft guild. So it has nothing to do with dancing, but rather with the camaraderie and cohesion of a group.
@olgahein43847 ай бұрын
@@marcelflow3121 Alright, here's the thing: My Duden says: Reigen = Reihentanz, Wikipedia says the same. It's a dance when multiple people dance in a row (Reihe) and most often form a circle, or 2 facing rows or in pairs moving in rows and/or circles - dancers holding hands is the key feature here. It has nothing to do with worship or the likes, but with group dance activities. I have no idea in what parts of Germany 'Reigen' may be used in the context you described , but certainly not where i live or have lived until now (at most going from apprentice to master we would say 'in den Reihen/Im Kreise/Zirkel der Meister ankommen/aufgenommen werden' but that is neither official nor traditional and at most just pre mid 20th century speech). So that makes me wonder, where do people use 'Reigen' in such non-conform way?

@hellemarc47677 ай бұрын
The flag on the Moon really does have some wire in it to make it stand up like that. They pretend in the video that they can't figure out how to put the wire inside the flag, they even have an instruction leaflet. Gravity is not 0 on the Moon. It's around 1.62 meters per second squared (9.8 on Earth), and one sixth of Earth's gravity. If you took a scale with you on the Moon, a person who would weigh 70 kg on Earth would still weigh more then 11 kg on the scale.

Although they are quite stars in the USA and are touring there again, they have had a somewhat divided relationship with America since 1999. Why? Here is an excerpt from MTV:After staging the same outrageous antics for U.S. fans for over a year, the men of Rammstein have finally gotten in trouble for it. Frontman Till Lindemann and keyboardist Flake Lorenz were arrested Saturday night after a concert in Worcester, Massachusetts and charged with lewd and lascivious behavior. The men were released on Sunday and are expected to play Toronto Monday night. The portion of the show that spurred authorities into action should be familiar to anyone who caught the band as part of last year's Family Values tour: during the song "Bück Dich," Lindemann simulates anal sex with Lorenz using a fake phallus. Both men remain fully clothed during the act. A spokesperson for both men told MTV News, "While they strongly deny any criminal wrongdoing, they have retained local counsel and intend to respect the laws of the city in question by seeing this matter through to its logical conclusion. A court date has yet to be set in the case. If you really want to do something bad to yourself (joking), go see "Bück Dich" live in Montreal. The problem is that the average American regularly falls backwards from his chair, half unconscious. But don't worry, all the band members are straight, have wives and Children, here a topic has only been taken up once again and processed in Rammstein style. Greetings from Germany. Very, very good reactions

Yes, a permanent war, a vital war, an economic war, a war without death apparently. Yes, the Americans are very tough, they're voracious, they want undivided power over the world. It's an unknown war, a permanent war, apparently without death and yet a war to the death." Here we're not talking about the American people, but about American governance.

Re-P.S.: why haven't they gone back? It's very expensive and dangerous. The astronauts who did the Moon landing were not expected to come back. President Nixon had his eulogy ready: "Fate has ordained that the men who went to the moon to explore in peace will stay on the moon to rest in peace. These brave men, Neil Armstrong and Edwin Aldrin, know that there is no hope for their recovery." But in the near future, in 20 - 40 years or so, they will probably go back, to collect the helium-3 on the Moon's surface, NASA is already studying the feasability. Have you watched the excellent movie "Moon" with Sam Rockwell? It's about that, a guy from Earth sent on the Moon to stay for 5 years, to collect the helium-3 and to send it back to Earth in regular intervals. Great movie, watch it if you haven't.

One thing easily missed from the video is all the people being 'influenced' by the USA. Take a closer look at them. Who are they, where are they from? And what was their first or most memorable encounter with the USA/America? Native americans (encounter with the Europeans that would later become 'americans), the inuit of North-America, natives from all the corners of Africa, Japan, Philipines, the Middle East. And some where i'm not sure. Just saying, for those countries, those people, the 'american' influence was not of their own choice, it was forced on them by americans. And that influence is what was left behind or still part of the occuparion.

The moon landing happened, the US landed a total of 6 missions on the moon. The reason why we haven't been back since, till the recent uptick in interest is simple. Cost vs Reward. No perceived economic or strategic value. It's only now, as technology has advanced to commercial access, as countries around the world look outwards once more, considering asteroid mining and the possibility of colonization of other planetary bodies, such as Mars, has the perceived value of the moon increased as a waypoint to expansion. But the use of the moon landing as a faked event is not the moon landing specifically, but the manufactured perception of who America paints itself to be to the rest of the world. A "Reigen" is so to say a sort of "happy community dance usually danced by little kids at Kindergarten to a nusery rhyme" where you - HAVE TO JOIN HANDS (=that´s the point here "metaphorically") - while building a circle and you are moving in circle" = its "message" by using that term "Reigen" is basically - in context to the lyrics - about "a round dance enforced on the whole world (= having the metaphorical role of "Kids") by Amerika (=in the metaphorical role of "the Chaperon")...and the way/the style Till is singing in tone/accentuation + the chosen wording is also as like as singing a "nursery rhyme" for kids
