Few negative comments on this one which is completely fine, your all entitled to your opinions and I genuinely love reading all of them! but to clarify, as i mentioned in this video, I think Yarde is a great fighter. This video is more aimed at explaining the fact I feel his career has been strangely managed. But appreciate the feedback lads 👊💙

A lot of good points but you're not totally on the ball with Kovalev. Yes it was too soon but don't forget Kov was on the slide and was coming off a couple of losses by the time he fought Yarde, one being a brutal knockout loss. I think Yarde just needed one or two fights against a well level opponent like a Jean Pascal type to get ready for and he would've won. Kov was seriously on the decline and just had that bit of power and his great jab still keeping him going

No Joey, *the team saw Yarde as an super - athlete and their aim was always to 'game' boxing* (i.e. world title fights or journeymen) and he's made some decent cash. As for his world level opponents, Yarde was seen as a fighter with decent profile who could give a good fight but didn't have the experience to beat them. And the crucial reason for actually being able to get in at that level... ? Frank Warren. It seems Yarde obviously also runs his team the way he want! I say just do Buatsi in $audi - and if he wins - go for a title tilt of the [likely vacant by then, lol] IBF belt... then call it a career! : )

The problem is tunde! He should have left him after the kovalev fight and moved to a conventional trainer with experience at world level.

I'll admit as an American, when he fights at world title level bro he's friggin entertaining 😂

People shit on Buatsi but he's been built up perfectly. He beat the uber drivers, then beat the journeymen, then he's cleared out the domestic scene. He's now well-placed to compete for a world title. He loses to both of the top 2 but so would everyone else
@Tnz692 ай бұрын
Yeah he took the right fights but not at the right time. He shouldve been ready for world level 3-4 years ago

I've been thinking this for some time - Buatsi's ascent may be slower but it's definitely been a good path.

Buatsi is 31 who has he beat that excites anyone? He has the talent but his career is just as weird as Yardes is considering the inactivity and treading water for years.

It is a bizarre record and you have nailed it really well here. I think you have to look at his management team, rather than Queensbury, because there isn't any comparisons where they have match made anyone so erratically. Even the break up with Queensbury, and the contract dispute was to do with opponents and Team Yarde keep wanting one more warm up fight, according to Frank Warren in a recent interview.

I am so pissed off about this Yard man. I like him so much as a fighter, as a talent and as a personality. In my honest opinion he made 2 crucial mistakes. First one was messing up with this Russians (Kovalev & Beterbiev)where he got KO badly and the second one was being inactive in his peak years and on top of that splitting with Warren . What a wasted talent really.....

World level athleticism with british level boxing skill and technique thats why he can be in there with world level guys, but eventually lose he lacks the other half to be on that level

It is hard to work out what level Yarde is at and I doubt even Anthony Yarde knows either. I suspect he is British level and would not be surprised if he would lose to and would certainly struggle against the top British LHWs, Buatsi beats him easily IMO.
@Tnz692 ай бұрын
Yarde will lose to Hutchinson and maybe Azeez too

Yarde kinda suffers from the curse of looking too much the part ( speed, fitness and aesthetics, athleticism) but lacks the more important parts of boxing science.

Miscalculation and trusting on luck, but in Yarde's level of experience, I was surprised by his gutsy performance against Kovalev and Beterbiev.
@naeemislam11052 ай бұрын
can blame him for not having a proper trainer. Tunde is not a good trainer at all. Shouting lions in the camp does nothing. Yarde should have gone for a real trainer like shane mcguigan or maybe get a US based trainer like derrek james maybe. Matchmaking wise he either fights bums or fights the absolute best such as kovalev and beterbiev which isn't a good thing because he had no in between fights so hasn't fully developed the correct way

Excellent analysis, somehow his managed to avoid literally all the top domestic LH?
@scotthunt38602 ай бұрын
Yeah I struggle to understand where he’s going sometimes and I also thought his performance Saturday was very mediocre regarding his last performance against Beterbiev. Yes I know he lost but he had a good shot at it and could hold his head up from that. I just feel sometimes he performed under par for a guy of his ability and by now at this stage in his career should be way up there in the world rankings? I really don’t believe he’s been brought up correctly

The truth imo is that Yarde is a hype job , doesn’t mean he doesn’t have quality or a good fighter but Buatsi is clear of him and I believe would stop him if they fought. His record is much much better and more importantly more balanced . He’s beaten everyone at domestic level and looked good doing it

I personally believe Yarde Loyalty has let him down, I feel he should along with DDD be cleaning Ranks house on the regular for what he’s done for them, but for me Yardes advisors and Tunday have all let him down imo… He was one of my faves and I honestly believe he could of been our number one had he been managed correctly, he had the looks, the personality, his body and his skills, he should of been sold to the casuals as well as the hard core fans like AJ was
@mattsb67932 ай бұрын
As a fan I understand the frustration but looking at it from Yardes point of view I don't see the problem. He's taking little or no damage and got to two world title shots from a mediocre record. He's a huge light heavyweight and moving to boxxer makes sense given their cruiser weight stable and buatsi was already there. If anything he's being managed correctly. When you look at the other current British light heavyweights how many have had two world title opportunities at the weight level?? What level is he at? I think he is at world level, it's just that the one and two are exceptional
@Tnz692 ай бұрын
How is it correct management when the opponent is being announced only 2 weeks before his fight? Hes had 29 fights and 2 world title shots. Hes also not beaten any of the british lifht heabyweights (except Lyndon)
@mattsb67932 ай бұрын
@@Tnz69 but if you can just fast track to a world title shot why wouldn't you? Like I said I don't agree with it as a fan but when you look at Buatsi 19 fights and no world title opportunities. It's possible that he gets a third shot. Some decent fighters don't even get one.

Let's not put all the blame on Frank Warrren. As its the trainer on who he wants his fighter to go in with. His matchmaking as been horrible as there were no step up fights. His best win to date is Lyndon Arthur. At commonwealth level. I feel he's regressed after Beterbiev he fought very low-level opposition, which proved nothing. Who don't throw punches back. Vilcans who he fought on saturday was throwing really combos that caught him. Yarde had no answer for it. I don't think he's ready for Buatsi.

He's had 2 world title shots, against Beterbiev he showed he can mix it with the best and a couple of times he hurt Beterbiev, personally I think the lack of Amateur fights shows in his style he needs more fights he should be out 3-4 times a year, I think he needs to get busy

Guy's Yardi is very tough but very stupid, his trainer and manager Tunde's a conman, I trained at the peacock jym and watched Tunde train nobody's, he's crap , he's a wannabe Mayweather , Tunde struck gold when he ran into Yarde, it was Yarde's toughness that got him to where he is and notTunde, Tunde's got rich of Yarde and Yarde's not improved one bit and he's not smart enough to change trainer, Mark my words, none of the upcoming young fighters Tunde's training are going to go far if they stick with him but he's made millions with Yarde so it won't make no difference to him.
