I believe Doechii is breaking through, not only because of her talent, but because she has good people around her too. Her label is good at artist development. Something majors don't do these days. They didn't just put her out here because she caught a buzz or her name got hot. They made sure she was prepared.

It was thanks to you guys I became aware of Doechii from your React video. I've become of fan of Doecii she has musical skills I don't hear in others. I say if someone is coming from wanting to an artist and it brings them commerce that good, because without the commerce they won't be funded to make more art

My brother in the blue needs to expand his mind a bit. JT isn't the best rapper, but Alter Ego is a good song. It may not be your taste, but the quality is there.

As someone who was an active artist will disagree that singles artist are simply commerce artist. The way the game changed it made it harder to make random ppl support projects especially with the amount of work & investment it takes.. The studio sessions, production cost, photoshoots, events, promotion, music videos - all of that for a project ppl will demand more after a month.. the system has pushed us into that lane .. Fans need to change the way they digest product b/c it's feeding an algorithm based strategy of short songs, TikTok dances, IG captions etc there ar many really talented artist who try the harder path then hit open mics and see surface level artist get the attention or drill rappers get the views and then that cost catches up..

As talented as she is, she’s just not ready yet. She’s still trying to find herself as an artist. When I hear her, I hear a lot of people. She also needs to get better lyrically as well. I say all this because she is being pushed to the forefront rather quickly as of late. Reminds me of Tink in a way (albeit on a much bigger scale). Tink had the (polished) lyrical skills but was catapulted (too early) without much follow up (Due to Timbaland)….However, years later she really found her groove as a singer, and just stuck with that (even though she was a really good rapper as well). I’m just more in awe with Doechii when she’s on stage performing, versus when she’s on a song. If she tightens up her rhymes, and get further away from doing her best Princess Nokia, ect impressions, she will be a force to be reckoned with. 🐾

It's not that she's not ready, it's that people don't grow with the artist these days. I suppose it's because of all the instant gratification at everyone's fingertips. She'll get there. Let her cook and cook with her. If that makes sense.
