The rear derailleur islower than other parts of the frame, therefore, it will eventually get hit. I have a delta trike, different brand, and its derailleur is lower than the Kettweisel's. I've mashed 5 in 2 1/2 years. I'm modifying my derailleur right now so it won't hang so low and I plan on mounting a skid plate.

Fantastic video and product. A few questions: Is there a discernible difference in speed/acceleration between using the derallier and the Rohloff speed Hub? Isn't there a very real chance of a derallier getting ripped off on a protruding rock, log or clump of earth? JJ BTW, I want one!

So... heavy, muddy, bumpy, prone to rear mech issues, poor traction, vulnerable in traffic, too big to fit in most cars... oh, and I'll bet it costs a fortune. Remind me again why I want one?

They're fun. You have to try one on a real ride to see that they're a blast. This video isn't typical of how most people ride one. Just riding around for fun, or on errands, a bike can't come close to the comfort of one of these. You sit upright, so you can see much better than you can on a bike. It is not dangerous in traffic, people spot you a mile away because it's strange. If they're coming up behind you, they think it's a wheelchair or something. They give plenty of room.

@@raymondo162 No argument with the fact that a Dutch style bike provides a better view than a road bike. I own a recumbent trike, which I ride a lot. And before that, I put in tens of thousands of miles on road bikes. I'm tired of their hemorrhoid producing seats, even Dutch seats. I'm tired of two wheelers needing constant attention to stay upright and steer a straight line. My trike is so much more relaxing that I will never go backwards and ride a bike again. My trike is heavier than a road bike, but a good trike weighs less than a typical Dutch bike. A trike doesn't break down as small as a road bike does. But Dutch bikes need a wrench to remove the wheels. Overall, I'm sticking with the trikes. I may buy a lighter one in the future, though.

Gar nicht funny find' ich, wie Ihr den Waldboden kaputtfahrt! Was findet ihr daran so witzig? Ich kenne keinen Trike-Fahrer, der im Wald herumholzt und sein Trike derart behandelt... Einfach nur schei..e.

Abschreckendes Video! Hase scheint es toll zu finden, im Wald herumzuholzen und rücksichtslos die Fußwege kaputtzufahren. Hatte schon vor, mir so eines zu kaufen, aber solche Schei.. unterstütze ich nicht. Daumen runter!!!
