But duration does affect ranged users more, it's much harder to keep the stacks up by poking with lower duration. Melee champs don't really poke, so duration doesn't matter too much

They have the technology to make sterak's melee only, why can't they do that to conqueror? Or maybe yet make a distinction between melee and ranged. Like 8 sec and 15% healing for melee, 6 sec or even lower duration and healing for ranged. Like is that so hard to do? Melee characters put themselves at harm's way and you're telling me that I can play a ranged character to negate every weakness that a melee character has and get better benefits on the rune that is supposed to be used by melee champions. What kind of logic is that. Like I know its preseason but they can't let that go unnoticed.

Tying a rune to a specific role is not a good idea, and the whole concept behind the runes is that everybody can use everything with varying effectiveness.

@@justcallmejudge That's just how the balancing currently is. If a bruiser pops off he can easily 1 Vs 5 which riot doesn't want for a team game so they keep them a bit weaker. Also you can easily classify a champion as a bruiser since the criteria is mostly being a bit bulky but still having some damage. But the bruiser class has many different playstyles. Every mage, every tank, every adc has many similarities but comparing Aatrox and xin is not smart, because Aatrox is drain tank with a mix of casting and auto attacking, meanwhile xin is more auto attack DPS oriented. Giving a keystone to the bruiser class that varies so much is difficult.

Lucas Alarcon no it is not. If you use your brain it becomes really easy to comprehend the fact that it is much harder for melee to maintain conqueror, BECAUSE THEY ARE MELEE, so duration nerf, hits MELEE CHAMPIONS MORE than it does ranged, because it is easier for ranged to prolong the duration.

They should just make Aatrox scale better and have more resistance against ranged champions later on in the game. Maybe he can gain additional spell vamp on his empowered Q's based on bonus HP. That way he still has to hit his Q's but it has WAY more impact than it currently does. Plus this prevents players from going lethality. In this way it would require his build go tankier to get the spellvamp. Something that allows him to hold true to his character.

Even as an ADC player they can literally just nerf Conqueror by making the adaptive force on Ranged to only be 50-70% effective. The duration should have been the same.

I see now that they will never try to actually balance it in any healthy or meaningful way, and all their champions/ reworks within the last year are solid proof of that. *Conq* should last 8 sec on melee and 4 on ranged champions, while heal 15% for melee and ranged. That way, mages will have trouble stacking *Conq* and maintaining it (meaning that the healing amount doesn't matter all that much since they can access it properly), while Urgot won't lose any healing from Conq because he's ranged and shorter duration doesn't matter that much to him.

AP Bruiser itemization really IS shit, though. That's why most champs that were supposed to be "AP Bruisers" dont play like Bruisers at all. Look at Sylas or Diana. They currently need to balance the champs around the items in a weird, usually unsatisfying, way. Morde's the biggest exception here, cause he is a Juggernaut... And they made sure to make some of the passives/actives on AP items extremely good on him (Nashors, Rylais, Liandries, Protobelt). AP items are just OP on a whole and that's a problem. Thing is, AP Bruisers have to share their items with mages. No AP Bruiser should wanna build Zhonya's, except if youve got some very strong synergy with it(Swain). The item is just so overstatted - and there are only AP+resistance items designed for mages/assassins, not bruisers - that they get pushed to needing to build those. The overlap of AD Bruiser/Squishy is handled much better, in part by the melee/range disparity, and on the other hand by the squishy-defence passives(GA and QSS) are not nearly as hard-coded "For squishy only" as Zhonyas. This just leads to a terrible balance state for AP Bruisers. A change to AP Bruiser itemization would be really welcome, so that their items wouldnt get poached so much by mages and vice versa. Heck, on Sylas release, Riot even admitted that their AP Bruiser itemization was bad and that, due to that, Sylas would need to be in a weird balance state until this gets fixed. And maybe - just maybe - when they'll do the AP Bruiser item updates... They finally do something about AP items, cutting some fat off of the top end.

Aatrox reveive on the 5 min wasnt a problem. If youre in a situation where you die every 5 minutes you probably shouldnt be top anyways. 5 mins was enough to make lane phase 100% cheese. What really sucked about it was later when team fights and trades happen every 2-3 minutes

@@sirsneakybeaky you mean the 2 months when conq with rageblade (insert item) broke him? it wasn't the revive that broke him it was his interaction with those runes and items, and had people used pantheon, fiora, jax, riven, or renekton they could have beat him in lane, but no they stuck to tanks who aatrox was inherently designed to counter. His revive was unanimously the most hated part of his kit by actual aatrox players, its the reason riot gave him low base defensive stats, if you revived you wouldn't get the kill, or late game you would be likely to just die again if your team didn't play around you dont lecture me on this champion i played and followed him since s3.

conq. was a mistake all the time. the concept just doesn't fit into the Game's burst heavy meta which is the problem of Champs that do not primarily fight with instant 0.25 seconds 100 - 0 burst combo's then adding that assassin can literally become immortal without heavily sacrificing in their burst potencial (abusing hourglass, banshee's, Sterak's, Death's Dance, changed edge of night etc.) just bring back old fervor make it melee only and reduce all the shitty stupid burst potencial's without heavy heavy heavy weighting danger's, that alone will indirectly buff bruiser's to make them more enjoyable since they will actually notice and feel their base stats rather then just see inefficient decorational numbers that get bypassed by most of these bs champ's
