Sometimes y'all say stuff I don't agree with, and sometimes y'all say stuff I've never even heard about before. Whether or not I agree with you on every topic I love to hear you discuss them. There are very few topics where I'm like "I dont wanna hear this" and in those cases skip ahead until you're onto something different or I just click off that particular video and watch another. I know people get uppity and crap but y'all are human and I'm glad to hear you talk about serious stuff now and again, especially since if I disagree at least I can hear people talk about a different view point from my own.

I don't get why people complain about when Hat Films go into politics. I've disagreed with some things they've said, I've agreed with other things. But just ignoring their views does no good. The fact that for years people have buried their heads in a sand when politics is brought up is the reason why people have become disillusioned with politics and caused the sudden outburst of unpredictable politics. It's a conversation that needs to stop being taboo. If you love Trump because he's created jobs, or whether you hate Trump for pulling out the Paris Climate Accord--it doesn't matter. They're your views and you should allow people to challenge them, and make you think about it from time to time.

Just to clarify which I hope Smith doesn't realise. Spacey's initial accusation was that it was towards a 14 year old boy when he was 27. Drunk or not, one off mistake or not - that is a child. Sometimes celebrities are scrutinised far worse than they should be because of their status, but that was probably a poor and not very well informed example.
@kidneyredux41677 жыл бұрын
To be fair, Smith clarified that he was misinformed and playing devil's advocate
@Lauren-wb6qv7 жыл бұрын
I honestly get that but if he knows the age then there are better ways to play devils advocate than using a point about a child being molested. If he didn't then it shows how dangerous it can be using misinformation as it once again, technically, makes light of child molestation
@howlsy7 жыл бұрын
I think his point was fair though, even if his example was rather poor. I don't think Smith did know the age from the sounds of it either. And also, Shogun_ Speaks has a point as well.
@Lauren-wb6qv7 жыл бұрын
Oh I agree with the point he made but sometimes people latch on to the examples and use it themselves which is why I wanted to clarify Also I totally agree as well with accusations are just that. My point isnt whether it is true or not it was how the accusation is percieved and dealt with. Some celebs are overly scruitinised over accusations which every day people could just pass off. However when it involves potential sexual advances towards a child then it should be fully investigated as with any other person. Oh and molestation: "to make annoying sexual advances to; especially :to force physical and usually sexual contact on" - Spacey was accused of lying on top of Rapp which I would consider as forced physical contact (however I realise this could be down to personal perception to a certain degree)
@garethjones60827 жыл бұрын

Rapist are not inherently guilty and rape accusers are not inherently liars. The courts should solve these issues. Innocent until proven guilty, maybe? If someone callers me a murderer that does not make me a murderer.
@Sensiav7037 жыл бұрын
The key difference between murder and rape, however, is its provability. You can always say with a high degree of certainty that a murder took place, you can't necessarily say the same in a case of rape unless it's reported and documented as immediately after the incident as possible. Unfortunately, that doesn't happen often in legitimate cases of rape and convictions happen predominantly on testimony alone, which isn't exactly the most reliable form of evidence.

I agree with smith on this one that if you have done a bad thing the way you handle it should correspond too the actions taken after, it seems celebrities have massively huge disadvantages when it comes to paying for a crime they did. abit like the manager for the womans football team that made a joke and lost his job and is getting just huge media backlash... and will never really be able to get over it.
@man1113957 жыл бұрын
The flip side of this is that they also get out of crimes easier due to their status and influence. That is why all these accusations are coming out at the same time, because there is safety in numbers.

I think a lot of the stuff about Russia here is a mischaracterisation. Undoubtedly Russia wanted Trump in the White House since Hillary wasn't in their interests. I don't necessarily think it's fair to say that a foreign country preferring a candidate is somehow a smear on that candidate. Take the UK as an example. There were foreign powers who wanted Theresa May and others who wanted Jeremy Corbyn to win the previous election. Due to the Corbyn's long-standing position on the Middle East: Israel and Saudi Arabia would have preferred May. Does that mean that voting for May was somehow doing the Saudi's or the Israeli's bidding? A bit of a stretch to say yes, I would argue.
@alphaprawns7 жыл бұрын
I see what you're getting at, but Russia has a very long and storied history of utilising propaganda and misinformation, there is definitely precedent for it. We will have to wait and see what happens with the investigation currently ongoing though of course
@Drazerblade7 жыл бұрын
Exactly. The argument is total bullshit. Obama publicly endorsed Macron in the French election. The US was anti brexit. The west constantly claims Assad is a dictator and should be ousted. The west constantly opposes Putin and is pro opposition. All countries have their politcal preferences for things that are positive to them.
@tenebrisevernight7 жыл бұрын
True, just because a foreign government wants a particular candidate to win doesn't automatically put up red flags. But, when that foreign government is, as Russia is to the U.S., not only a historical enemy but has(I haven't confirmed this) such a shady leader such as Putin, and is the birthplace and historical practitioner of a social stucture that your government has opposed, like Communism. When the candidate is not only supported by, but has connections to that foreign government, surrounds himself with people who also have connections to that foreign government. Then yes, the support of that foreign government should send up red flags.
@MrPapamilhas7 жыл бұрын
One thing is to endorse another political view or to support that person.That´s okey. The problem here is that Russia, not saying other's don't do it, made propanganda and misinformation to make sure they got what they wanted. We can support another point of view but you can´t simply change what people think on a country that's not your's so you get what you want. Even making this type of propaganda in your country is something wrong. Saying that if you vote on them we will lose jobs or thousands of refuges will invade or that. That's psychological warfare and is controling people by what makes them afraid, we saw that happening in Brexit, we saw and still see with Trump. We will probably see it more. And that is not freedom or democracy.
@tenebrisevernight7 жыл бұрын
the fact that a foreign government endorsed a presidential candidate isn't the issue, the issue is who that foreign government was and the fact that the candidate, now president, lied about it.

I find it really interesting that Smith identifies as conservative (in another video) but his views don't line up AT ALL with that. I think far to many people pick a political team and willfully or not don't actually look into the policies of that team...and it sort of becomes like a sports team for them. They feel the need to be loyal to them from then on. It is so important to actually look into a political parties policies and understand them.

@Fredreegz7 жыл бұрын
I dunno what side of the pond you're from, but I think you have to remember that US politics and UK politics are slightly different, with different factions at play, discussing similar but different values and issues. The US Republicans are much more rightwing than the UK Conservatives, and UK Labour is much more leftwing than the US Democrats. Honestly, I'd say the Democrats are more comparable to the Conservatives - with the exception of Bernie Sandlers. What's conservative by British standards might be seen as quite leftwing by American standards.

About the coal jobs: what people don't seem to realize is that the vast majority of coal jobs are being lost to automation, not renewable energy. So no matter what Trump or other conservatives promise, they can't bring those jobs back. They can't uninvent the robots that replaced thousands of miners. About the Russian Ads: they weren't simply running pro-Trump propaganda. They were also doing things like sending Black Lives Matter ads to very conservative areas. It seems the goal was to be as decisive as possible.

The coal laws that were removed were both excessive and unconstitutional, as in the senate denied so the epa used a past bill that had nothing to do with coal to completely circumvent the process. Prior to those laws going in coal was already scrubbed and had to go through clean air processes to the point where they arent that damaging. The most recent clean energy bills (the ones that were recently removed) made it so coal had to meat certain unreasonable standards regardless of cleaning process out of the ground. Literally made coal unviable without any meaningful impact to the environment

In case they see this, which I doubt they will, but hey, it never hurts to try. I'm a pro trump american, and I'm still watching. Unlike most people, I do have a dynamic political view, and I have a lot of opinions about whats going on with the US. Smith, if you'd like to have a chat sometime, I'd be delighted.

Hi, just wanted to ask, have your opinions on the president changed? How do you feel he reacted to the recent shooting in America? Cheers bud.

RaccoonBacon97 I'd like to add another couple questions to what Ben asked above. What drew you in to be pro-trump? Has trump done anything about this subject?

Smith, I disagree with your idea that celebrity makes it harder to escape scrutiny. People still love Chris Brown's music, lots of famous people have been known paedophiles for years without significant career consequences

Jupiter Frerer I think there’s two sides to it, some celebs would get ridiculed for it for the rest of their life however other celebs, just because of their name and their status, their acts would be overlooked because people don’t want to believe that they would do such a thing.

Jupiter Frerer yeah but again that is separating a person's art from the person. Like I like Micheal Jackson's music, but I don't like the guy.

Jaywalk It's the same thing for Kaitlyn Jenner. She straight up killed someone in a traffic accident yet no one talks about it.

Uhhh, did you mean Lostprophets? Ian Watkins was convicted of sexual assault on children. Stereophonics, however, are very much still a thing, and Kelly Jones is very much still their lead singer ( and I'm fairly confident not a paedophile, though I've never met the man).

Frosty The Spaceman ooooooo idk about that mate... beating a defenseless woman is pretty fucked.

Guys, i absolutely LOVE these hat-chat style videos. But going through the comments, it seems like a lot of people dislike this style of content so maybe.. a little tip if you can call it that.. Put this on HatFilmsExtra? Most of us that are into this probably also follow your HatFilmsExtra channel actively. Hence why. I, personally, dont care. But I havent seen a video of you guys hit this amount of dislikes since LONG. Basically i'm worried the backlash will be to harsh lol. If you guys dont care then that's fine :) i'll stick with you guys no matter what :D

Hatfilms content: 50% homoerotic sexually depraved banter with the occasional freestyle, 50% civil/intellectual discussions of all the big topics. Keep it up, lads!

Love trumps hate. Let people love who they want, they did not chose who to be born that way. Also, innocent until proven guilt? The public keeps deciding guild before the courts. Just because there are accusations does not make them true. If I said, Smith molested me, that does not mean he did. I also think victims could be telling the truth, but it is not up to me, it is up to the jury.

I gave a big sigh once I realized this video wasn’t going to be what I was hoping for (the usual gta banter), yet I still respect most of what you all said. I often turn to you all to get away from the crap in our world and to be happy lol, but I’m not gonna control your content because beggars can’t be choosers and you never disappoint XD
