Thanks for the good advice "When you got something that has very limited brakes you don't want the throttle sticking open". These videos bring back so many memories of life on the farm. It is great to see the kids pitching in and learning those family values and hard work.

At age 17, I started hauling logs, pulling a tandem axle trailer with a one year old F-600 Ford, red, 330ci engine with a 4 speed and 2 speed rear axle (used a little over a tank of fuel each load, stopped 4 times daily to "top off" with gas, 142 miles round trip, 4.5hrs/load).....good ole days. Truck was a little too lite for what I was using it for, but it's what I had. Thanks for sharing the old Ford, I enjoyed mine for 4 years!

Brings back memories from the late 80s early 90s first thing we did was ride around the field and cut up limbs and trees that fell on the fence then after that, we would look for dead trees to cut down

I used to go to the Sawmills around my house in Oklahoma and find buy them big old Ram bundles of slaps where they cut them off the logs and use that for my firewood it worked really well

For a 58 year old truck, she is looking good. Same age that I am, so yes a little lubrication for the old joints helps, maybe a little Biofreeze next time or bengay, 😂

Thank you for another awesome video gotta love the old truck absolutely amazing take care god bless love you all
@nightrider67692 ай бұрын
Hi Alan yeah I just love it when you break out the old truck that thing is cool now this is just my opinion but I think you should take one day and put all new plugs in it wires cap and rotor and then maybe take another day and take the carb off send it and get it rebuilt so when you actually use it it'll run good it doesn't sound like it runs too bad and then fix that throttle on the inside cab so that doesn't stick anymore and you would have yourself a really good running truck and maybe you know find out what's wrong with the brakes and fix those too got to keep the maintenance up otherwise that truck will let you down at some point.
@trinitydairy2 ай бұрын
I put new ignition parts in a few years ago, but the plugs came out so hard, I only did one side, because I thought they would break off. The cab is very rusty also, I do keep up on fixing the main stuff, but since it would never be allowed on the road, I don't worry much about the other stuff.
@nightrider67692 ай бұрын
You even said it in the video the carb could use work I bet it would run a lot better if you had that rebuilt you do a pretty good job of doing maintenance on your stuff lot of farmers just don't.

Is it just non-ethanol fuel that you keep in these old rigs so they are ready to fire up after a year of sitting?
@trinitydairy2 ай бұрын
No, that was just regular ethanol gas.
@colorado10882 ай бұрын
How much old gas was in the truck? Did you put the new gas in before first starting? I'm wondering if I need to drain gas out of my mower for winter. I always have before but now am trying to save effort on unnecessary jobs.
@trinitydairy2 ай бұрын
That was the gas that was in it. For small engines I would shut the gas off, and let it run till it uses all the gas out of the carburetor.

I hate when people dump in the woods,,just burn it..?
@trinitydairy2 ай бұрын
Why? In a couple years it will be gone, and it gives shelter for small animals in the winter. I'm not against burning it, but we have a burning ban on because it's been dry. And if I decide to burn it, I can still burn it right where I dumped it once we get snow.
@matthewklejeski66412 ай бұрын
Why, it provides winter shelter for rabbits and grouse, and will also decompose, and provide fertilizer for other plants to grow

Sorry but what's a unisystem? I always appreciate your explanation and the time it took todo chores..theres no rush
@trinitydairy2 ай бұрын
The unisystem was made by new idea, and it was a self propelled power unit, that many different attachments can be mounted to. Like a forage harvester, combine, snow blower, husking bed Like we have, and many more.
