May God grant you much more time on earth my friend.. I had to sit waiting for my late wife go through her 6 weeks, 5 days a week of Radiotherapy, then 3 lots of ever Increasing strength of Chemo, but even after her brain operation in the first place it was just time..An Ex nurse, we both took early retirement at 55 wifey younger, and so glad we did, the C took her in 18 months sadly, so, you keep fighting my friend.. Hiya Chris, I sit here listening to the hydraulic pump working, noticing changes In Its sound under load as you try hard to do stuff that dont really want to be done right then, to me its more than just machine noise, its a working noise telling us just how hard your making your machines work for there living.. Poplar is what I use to make guitar bodies. I was kind of drooling over those trees as you dropped them. Big straight beautiful wood. I just got a good section of Alder from my father in law’s property. Looking forward to working with it in a few years.

It's so hard to remember that when you scrape stuff off a tree, its not a shovel loads worth of dirt but several wheelbarrows full. Amazing the amount of dirt you get off those things.

This is the job for Volvo 950F, it would make quick word of clearing those trees. At12:00 knocking off the dirt and lifting that tree was all your excavator could do. The back of your excavator's tracks were airborne more than they were on the ground.

Do you still go to the sawmill and does the wood you cut go there,or other mills,come a long way in clearing this property,seems you have a long way to go.you need to take that hokey stump from that first tree and take it to your homestead and create a yard ornament with flowers and plants.neighbors would be envious or not.good video 👍👍👍👍😎😎😎😎

Do log trucks have different DOT tie down rules? Those two 4" straps on each load only are rated for 11,000 +/-, think there was little more then that in each stack.

yeah just needs 2 straps the sides hold all the weigh that just keeps anything from bouncing or sliding off. if it flips its not like any straps are going to matter then

Would the SPARTAN COMPANY , LIMB SAW , skid steer attachment help you with cutting wood lengths ? Its built primarily for cutting low hanging limbs , but could it work , its just gravity downward pressure , maybe a other attachment that would save you out of the cab work , I would think it could pay for itself , I bought the Limbsaw but haven’t used it yet , waiting to retire from the rental property business here in SE Pennsylvania , and get a new JCB teleskid , either the 3TS track or 2TS track , and play around , wanna buy 36 buildings 72 units tenants up here in PA ? LOL I’m done after 37 years being a landlord after this years crap Be SAFE CHRIS

I used to haul 90K loads of tree-length poplar to International Falls, Mn. 15 minutes to load, about a minute to unload with a supersize Letourneau forklift. Nice side job, for cash.

I pulled a LOT of double deck wood. Liked it better than tree length stuff. Have to watch it in a curve if you have a flimsy trailer. Good stout frame and no problem. They can lean hard in curve.

A logging truck weights ~20,000 lbs. The gross weight of a load is ~ 80,000 lbs. So the net weight is ~ 60,000 lbs. Pine pulp wood is ~ $13/ ton so $400-$500 a load. Chris has to pay the hauler so he isn't making much money but then again he doesn't have to burn it.

We hauled hardwood chips to Hawsville, ky. $500 a box Semi full. 15 years ago. screened and sized by our chipper. Chipped debarked. Slabs from the mill. Chipboard plant at Hawsville. We cut all logs 4 inches overlength. So you dont get More than. 4 inch waste on lumber. Rough hardwood lumber is 4 inch over length. The mill will dock you a foot. If it's not 4 inches over..

Trivia. An 8 inch green poplar board is 7.5 - 7.25 inches wide after kill dried. Never did pine do I don't know how it shrinks.

I have never heard of a sweet gum before, looked it up and see that it's a southeastern softwood tree in the pine family. What do you do with those, do they mill them for lumber or just for pulp? With hardwoods, do you or the customer get paid for those?

You know the perpendicular plate sticking out of the back side of the compaction tool? The stumper should have a plate like that on it for moving dirt into the stump holes.

Talk about Home Depot and lumber, $ 96.99 for 1 sheet of 1/2" PT Plywood ! I had to pick up 1 - 2x4x8 PT for a kick plate on the bottom of a stall door and seen that price on PT Plywood, Outrageous. Worse than Gas prices.

Chris I tell you something you could do for that squeak if you want to do it I know it's dirty and dusty down there mix you up some marvel Mr oil and a little bit of diesel fuel and a little pump sprayer and spray that track down but with the dirt all it's going to take on there but or either that or start digging a pond and getting some mud and water
