Glad to see this pump/block will work on the X570-i, gearing up to build something similar into an Xproto L...Originally was going to go with Alphacool DC-LT pump/block combo but I don't know if they will push the proper volume through a cpu/gpu and thick 360 rad. Nice video and build, thanks for sharing!

I have a server rack in my room. Good fans do fine at 100% all of the time. Noise only matters if you can't ignore things, this replaces white noise for me. :) Anyways, nice build, could you compare that barrow block to a western one? I'm curious as to how good they actually are. I bought a freezemod block from amazon and it's kinda booty on new Ryzen processors.

Where did you find a silver version of that Barrow pump+block? I've been trying to look for it for ages!

Strange question, but what is the width of the spine at the rear. I’m thinking about getting this case and would probably drill holes for pass through fittings, for an external rad.

Looks great, but hows the dust situation? Is there enough air flow to keep it clean or do you have to help with that once in a while?
@haurjie
@haurjie 2 жыл бұрын
Dust situation is just like any other open air case. People always say open air is bad because you accumulate dust faster. Yes it can, but you can also clean it faster and easier too than compared to a closed case. It's honestly a very minor issue. In fact, I don't see that as an issue, I see open air cases as an advantage over closed cases when it comes to cleaning.

What a great build. The red coolant worked perfectly with the black. In my build, I've never seen significant difference on pump speed. Maybe the 360 radiator offers significant flow resistance so that it can actually make a change. By the way, I use the same pump+res+cpu combo. Very interesting for mini-ITX builds, but I didn't like the screws pressure. I never know when it is good enought. What's your feeling about this pump+res+cpu combo?

Tbh it's my first time using a DDC pump. I've always opted for D5. Surprisingly, the DDC pump wasn't AS loud as I expected. Watching other people's videos on it doesn't really do it justice until you hear it in front of you. But I think the convenience is really nice as it accommodates a 3 in 1. I can agree with you on the screw mounting system. It's common in many blocks, even AIOs. It's hard to tell how tight or secure it really is without overdoing it... I think that just comes with experience and you just have to feel for it.
2 жыл бұрын
@@haurjie Cool, I'll have to try a D5 pump someday. By the way, I've made a video of my build. It's in portuguese, but the subtitles are translated to english. Feel free to check it out: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nnWmo6FqprWqfdU

I belive 280mm is the best cooler size for this type of dual LQ set up to single rad on RTX 3080. Would be interesting to though that one into same set up to compare noise and temp
@air21511
@air21511 Жыл бұрын
My guess is that at 900RPM 280m will perform about as well as 240mm did at 1100/1200.

beautiful. i use a single 240/45 rad for 5600x/3070 and cooling is identical to when i used two 240/45s. I dont know how but it is. i saw jayz and kyle do it years ago and finally tried it and my results were the same as theirs. for whatever reason the extra rad surface area just doesnt do much if anything. id guess that there are some builds where that wouldnt be true but idk.
@haurjie
@haurjie Жыл бұрын
There is actually diminishing returns on having more rads depending on your parts and fan speed.
@damienlahoz
@damienlahoz Жыл бұрын
@@haurjie ive never seen anyone explain why, scientifically. Id be interested to find out. Certainly quality of parts is relevant but i think we've all assumed more rads, means more fans, means better cooling. But doesn't always.

I went from Corsair h100i 240 AIO to Barrow CPU pump block, I noticed CPU temp is higher though there is significant improvement on GPU. The CPU temp is higher even just under Cinebench while GPU is idle. Under Furmark CPU+GPU load, GPU sits around 50+ degree while CPU goes above 75(water temp around 40+ degree). There are still some air bubbles coz it's a new loop. I question the heat dissipation of the Barrow block, did anyone noticed the same?
@benixau
@benixau 2 жыл бұрын
You mean, you've added the GPU to a water loop and expect the CPU+GPU loop to be as cool as a CPU only loop?
@cloudytech2297
@cloudytech2297 2 жыл бұрын
@@benixau no, I just expect it to be cooler. The loop is capable of cooling the GPU by fair a bit, but seems not the case for CPU.
@benixau
@benixau 2 жыл бұрын
@@cloudytech2297 Your AIO was only cooling the CPU. Now, you have a loop cooling both CPU and GPU. It will not be able to keep them at the same temp. You are adding more heat to the loop. Did you add a second radiator? Or upgrade to a much larger rad? If not then it is not possible for a GPU+CPU loop to be as cool as a CPU only loop (which is what your AIO was).
