I cannot see why it would not be, it is not altering the structure or strength or integrity of the chassis. As per the video it is only cutting off a cap off the mount and then rewelding it back together with a few mms sliced out. It does not alter the body mount as far as how that is attached to the chassis and does not alter the mounting position of the cab to chassis. If anything made it (or would) make it unroadworthy would be if your tyres exceeded allowable sizes. It may not look like it in the video but once all welded back together you would not know if it was altered. Mick

how much of the body mount did you chop 25mm 30mm or 40mm?

If you look at the video at 10 seconds you will see that it was just after the radius of the body mount. About 25mm at the most. This was to fit 33 inch tyres. Mick

How much are you chopping out to fit the bigger tyres.

T is not much, what you see in the video at about 30 sconds. Cut off about half an inch and with the section we cut off ground it back down to a flat surface and the welded that back on to the cut to look stock again. Mick

Was that bit connected to the main bit of chassis next to it

jackson swift That is the front of the body mount that we are cutting the front off and then thinning down and welding back on. The bloke who owns this car was putting 33" tyre on and they would rub against the body mount when turning. It only needed a little bit removed. Regards, Mick

jackson swift No welding the front back on or any other plate will not affect /reduce the strength. This owner wanted the original front piece welded back on so it would look stock as it had the radius, I thought it would be easier for me to just to weld a bit of 3mm flat steel in. Others fitting bigger tyres than 33" will cut iit back quite a bit. The actual body mounting position is close into the chassis rail. Realistically I believe if you welded noothing there you would be fine, but itwould collect mud etc and be more prone to rust, plus open to more scrutiny from a modified vehicle perspective. Mick
