Thanks mate! Yes very nice inside - MG HS was too, but electronics and drive train felt much worse. Here, both appear to come nicely together. My fingers remain crossed!

Great to hear your enthusiastic first impressions. The H6 is the smartest looking of the current crop of Chinese vehicles. There is no question that the designers of Chinese cars pick and choose features and styles of Western manufacturers and the H6 seems to have a much better balance than many others. Physical buttons are becoming such a premium touch that it is surprising that Haval didn't cheap out and go full tech, congrats to them for that. The rotary gear shifter is poxy but they are not alone and really who cares once you are used to it. I have seen some pretty scathing reviews of the H6 but from a real world perspective, which you bring, it is a very nice unit. Horses for courses and the H6 is one flash looking nag! Sure the D90 is aimed at a different buyer but the H6 is simply a different class of vehicle. The 2 tiered sloping dash is straight out of a Lexus UX, might not be practical but looks great. The sloping dash will be in everything from now on as it is a safety issue. If you leave your sunnies and house keys on the dash and you have a prang you can end up with a nasty sunnies scar in the forehead when the airbag goes off. I reckon the window for reselling slightly secondhand cars and not getting slaughtered is closing so it is good you are rapted with the H6 as I reckon you will have it for a while. It will be good to get your impressions over a longer period of time. I am sure that the days of Chinese cars falling apart over a short period of time are behind us but it will be good to hear if you are still happy after a year. My tip is you will be.

Hey thanks Darron, yes there are different markets for different Chinese car brands emerging on the market, and LDV vs Haval certainly feels like two entirely different classes of vehicles... I'll be comparing H6 to my other cars soon enough, and certainly providing longer term reviews. So far - I remain very impressed.

Hi Friend , Really pleased for you & I'll keep my fingers crossed that all stays that way . I'm actually a bit jealous really as as I've said before the UK doesn't (as yet) get Haval & like you were a bit frustrated with my HS at times but still love it . I've been told by my dealer to expect a revised HS soon with new look & software etc , I'll not hold my breath though !. Anyway I look forward to your future updates on your new car & I'm glad it's not raining with you . It's 4 degrees C & raining here in Scotland . All the best ..........

Thank you my friend, HS is still a decent car for the price tag, so I wouldn't feel too disappointed if I were you - BUT - if you find out that Haval is available in Scotland, I'd look into reselling privately (while the market is going crazy and you might return at least most of your investment into MG) and then consider buying one of these. Mind you - I haven't owned it for a long time, obviously, so can't vouch for long term reliability yet. My fingers remain crossed.

I took a chance on the GWM Cannon L and after a year of driving and towing, its been great, no issues. Today we put a deposit down for a black H6 Lux as it was an impressive test drive.

Well it certainly has a much better infotainment system than my LDV D90. Glad you like it mate. How does it compare in comfort, feel in the seat when you're driving it around? Love that steering wheel cover. I was actually considering an MG EV for my wife since they're available and not over-priced like most EVs.

I think they are different class vehicles my friend, and a better comparison would be between ZST and Jolion. Haval H6 is better compared to MG HS... But having said that, I'm going to compare all 4 cars - D90, ZST, HS and H6 soon! ;)

From the looks and from what you and many others have said these look like good and very closely priced to Jolion which is fairly good all things considered giving you the real choice between both models without much cost difference well not as much as in other companies.

I've driven both Jolion and H6 now, and can tell you with confidence that while Jolion is cheaper and has it's own market for sure, H6 is a much nicer car overall

Congratulations ! , I have the lux too but in South Africa the spec is different our lux has sunroof , real leather steering wheel and bigger infotainment display but no auto park feature

Yes, here in Australia you need to get the Ultra for the sunroof and a few extra things.

@bear I guess every market needs something new after a while. BYD overtaking Haval probably has nothing to do with the cars being "worse" or "better" but with the simple fact of BYD rolling out new range of EVs?

not even close. Best ones would be Hongqi, NIO, XPeng, Geely, HiPhi-Z, and many other electric vehicles. Chinese cars are mostly electric vehicles. The internal combustion powertrains are being phased out with most new cars sold being hybrids or full electric. Haval/ GWM sub-brands are mid tier at best and economical cars for working class masses. The H6 in China is roughly the equivalent of $35,000 AUD for top spec models. Okay just like a Mercedes is cheaper in Germany and there's dealer delivery costs and taxes built into the price for Australian market, it definitely is a mainstream, mass market sort of car brand. A more affordable option to Japanese or Korean imports basically. MG uses Bosch and other German sourced components in multilink suspension. GWM sub-brands use Chinese components which aren't bad necessarily but would cost less than German components.

@@fredhal8681 you are right about the suspension components however I can confirm that some of the drivetrain as well as the electronics used in the H6 are German parts. The Awd system for instance is a Borg Warner Haldex gen V system (used in vw and Volvo too) , the engine ECU and ancillary modules are Bosch and the driver aid systems are built around the mobile eye q4 system ( intel and Bosch)

I'm personally a great fan of Japanese car & actually I've my Honda Vezel & it's a great car & very economical too. Now, after some years of owning that Honda, I'm on my way to buy a new hybrid vehicle I mean the bigger brother which is the Honda CRV. Seeing that Haval H6, I'm at a lost now! I just don't know what decision to take. In my country, many don't like Chinese cars as they fear it might broke down & bla...bla...bla. Honda holds great resale value & it's a very reliable & sort of beefy car as i never had any issues with all the Honda I drove for the past years. I need to know if someone has driven that Haval H6 for a longer period & what issues have popped up! I don't wanna rush & buy one & later on starts seeing issues after issues popping up! Any help?

Hey mate, I'd say firstly - look at the price difference between Honda and Haval in your country AND at the Warranty + dealership and service network support that GWM Haval provides. Are those comparable? Or is one much worse than another? Forget about what people think - look at the value and ask yourself, will you have issues maintaining and servicing the car after you buy it? If no major worries with service and after-purchase dealership support (for spare parts etc), AND the price is substantially lower than Honda (as it happens to be in Australia), then I'd test-drive Haval and see if it's right for you. If not, if other variables are roughly comparable, then go with a more established and recognized brand.

The interior the dash board slash instrument cluster ,info screen look ten folds better than the RAV4 my understanding is that is has a bigger more advanced battery and total power outputs is superior to Toyota's hybrid system .but to Manny sheep's with the blinkers on that only know Toyota

@@diegonaranjo2425 Honestly mate, you probably are better off paying $3k extra and getting the full package with the sunroof. I can't comment on it as haven't tested, and regret that I didn't have extra 3k to splash out, otherwise I probably would have done the same.

@@ValueCarsAU I'm not. I genuinely think it drives poorly . Suspension is all over the place.. on country rds you're up and down like a boat.. they need a Australian tune. personally I would have just got a entry level Tuscan at a similar price which drives 100 times better

I’ve had mine for a while and never had an issue with the drive, local and country roads. While it makes a difference to have local ride suspension, I believe either the Kia or Hyundai don’t also have it.
