Have Detector - Will Travel

...said the card of a man! Was recently travelling for work and brought my detector along for the ride. Stopped at a park in a historic city along the way and found a few keepers!

The mark on that fork was an 800 mark the "800 mark on silver refers to the purity of the metal. Pure silver has a 1,000 grade value. Silver with an 800 grade value is a silver alloy containing 800 parts silver and 200 parts other metals."

Did you happen to check the patent date on the wick adjuster on that lantern? I recently found one with a patent date of Oct 16, 1860 and mfg date of Dec 10, 1867 made by Venus. You will need a good magnifying glass to read the dates.
