It seems we need to revisit the early 2000s with shape ideas again. Such as logitech's extremely curvy mice, roccat's funny shapes, and the plethora of MMO mice with numerous side buttons.

We need to stop releasing the same symmetrical mouse slop imo. I think we can still innovate in the ergo department, and also develop more modernized versions of shapes like the Razer Naga. Hell, we can create some outlandish MMO mice designs as well, which would be pretty cool. I think companies have just opted to keep creating the same safe shape slop. We should get crazy with mouse ergonomics and design, I think that craziness is the path forward to more interesting shapes within the mouse scene.

I agree, people think weird shapes won't sell but one risky shape release wouldn't kill a company like pulsar or lamzu

@@boardzy They gotta just do the Finalmouse approach and produce mice in low volumes to see what sticks. The problem is that the processes mouse companies use are so heavily integrated into large scale manufacturing, the tooling and capacity cost fortunes and become affordable only with quantity.

I think options within each shape/design is the next logical step. So several options for click pressure, option for mouse coating (glossy coats ples), options for skates, option for type of scroll wheel, etc etc
@boardzy13 сағат бұрын
Kinda like what pulsar is doing with their custom program
@joeshow75013 сағат бұрын
@boardzy Dang I didn't know about that. I must have missed the video you probably did about it. They have a lot of options too, though no coating options. But yeah, each company should probably start offering this.
@QQable11 сағат бұрын
A lot of these are manufacturing problems. If some mouse company started using something like SLS or SLA more extensively, they could have essentially infinite shapes on demand with comparably cheap low volume production. The glossy finish is a sanding/polishing step, we used to have a bunch of them, but almost every mouse company stopped selling them because they were deemed unprofitable. One small change that I'd like to see in future mice is mouse companies adapting standardized skate patterns. If there is no performance reason for innovating the mouse skate shapes, then what are we doing making new ones for almost every random mouse? It just drives up their price.

Problem is, we already made pretty much best shapes for everything, no matter if you have small medium big size hands, if you want no hump, back hump, middle hump, aggresive ones like xm2 that fill your hand, more relaxed, or flat like fk2, sensors are sorted we have 2 or 3 sensors capable of being 4k wireless stable and low lantecy chips, we have so many switches from optical to mechanical that offer light, heavy, tactile, mushy everything, we have good coating, we have mice with holes and solid shells, and soon we will have everything of i just said in 3 mateiral choices magnesium, plastic and carbon. Shapes are overrated to people say shape is king, i yet to see popular mouse witsh shape that aggressive that i cant get used to it in 2 hours, if mouse isnt too small or big its okay, thats the truth. The thing i hope is that there will be new scroll design or at least better encoder mechanical or optical ones because IMO thats something that didnt improve at all and finally a good optical switch that will be compatibe with rashea design so i can swap them in viper and deathadder.

I HARDDDDD disagree, I think most mice are shit quality always some issue with clicks always some issue with wobbles on the sides or creaking or bad stock skates or bad side buttons, it's extremely rare to find a mouse that's so well built where you are "oh ok this one is perfect" I've had around 15 mice and the only one that was perfectly built is the GPX. All my end game gear mice (3) have clicks issues all my other brands have one issue of some kind. What is the biggest problem imo in the industry is build quality and standards as a whole

I want to see manufacturers move away from safe symmetrical shapes and give us some truly shocking shape. Give us an asymmetrical high hump za shape, or a rear hump ergo, or a reverse taper wide front narrow back symmetrical. The next frontier I think is a shell swappable mouse so we can get more shapes without having to buy a whole nother mouse. Some kind of base plate with swappable shells that have the click mounted to the shell like end game gear button modules.
@erisium69888 сағат бұрын
the fact is even tho ergos are comfy i dont think they are that "ergonomic" for aiming, i tried every good ergo mouse and i always perform better with symms - it doesnt even matter it can be xm2 it can be s2 it can be gpw or viper v2 or v3 i dont think there is symm mouse i would play worse than on ergos, even tho i love them for everyday use because they are so comfy to hold. Swapable shells are gimmic, people dont want to change shapes they want to go to shop and pick best one or in modern online shopping times they want a safe shape that they can blind buy and perform well in games aka viper v3, gpx thats why they are so popular and thats why companies dont do crazy shapes - people dont refund gpx because shape doesnt fit their hand - profit.

Emdgames philosophy of performance over everything else is so perfect to me and knowing they make sure they don't have huge latency flaws like the +20ms latency on the next click after lift off that affected the maya x and a few more mice recently too is great. I do miss the weight a bit on my maya x but the xm2 is so consistently fast and solved the months of inconsistency issues that I couldn't pinpoint which turned out to be the aforementioned bug that came came from lamzus software debounce filter.
