You are wise well beyond your years. I am 52 and just now learning to slow down, have less ambition (which for a man, particularly, is difficult and against so many cultural norms), and have ZERO EXPECTATIONS. While I am proud to be a Christian, I have reached a Buddhist-like state of No Expectations. I have been a class-half-full person my whole life. But now, I reset to ZERO before moving forward. Whatever is, IS. God Bless & Godspeed on your path through life. Thank you for your authentic and genuine videos and open-minded and open-hearted channel.

As a local New Mexican Taos is awesome, Red River is not to far too, take the Enchanted Circle trail it is soo beautiful. We were just in Taos a few months ago. There is some "Earth ship" houses you should check out, just a minute passed the Rio Grande Gorge bridge, both are worth the trip. Enjoy New Mexico, there is sooo much to do from mountains to deserts to city life.

On my job, I drive around the southeast gulf states a lot, and my favorite moments are when I get away from the interstates and drive highways through towns I’ve never heard of, and meet people I’ll likely never see again. This is what makes each experience unique and special.

Alyssa I admire your adventuresome spirit I drove truck for 3 8 years I didn't get to see a lot of what I'd like to have seen in this country I'm now unable to even drive my own vehicle due to brain tumor. You're inspiring to many people I know you seem to like philosophy and poetry. There's a poem that I feel you might like called(Desterada) I came across at about 55 years ago when I was a kid thought it was a good philosophy on life somehow I memorized it and to this day can recite it. If you haven't already come acrossed it in your readings I think you would find it carries a good balance of thought. Good luck and safety your adventures. I will be watching as many of your other followers will be.

Alyssa, I have been told for many years these words: you can't, you will fail, by everyone in my life, up to & including my wife. That I've actually started believing those words. But watching you, I've started to realize that those words are not true, that I can succeed at whatever I chose. You've been a huge inspiration to me since I've been watching you. You have a natural insight into your soul. You are stronger than you realize. I really like how you've shown both the good & the bad in every situation & emotional stepping stone you've had to face. Life is challenging, but you face it head on & that is great, something I've not been doing myself, but I am now. I hope you realize how special you truly are, you are truly one in a billion. I'm not the best at expressing myself, you are. You are real & straight forward, both truly great characteristics in a peron. I wish you & Rio the safest & best of times & travels in life.

@RandoCalrissian, mostly because of cops. I was beat up by 4 cops at noon for nothing. I was a passenger in a car. In 1980. A cop came to my house a year ago. Nice cop but just talking to him made me have panic attacks and cried my eyes out for a week. PTSD the doc said. I'm good, just don't need to get pulled over.
@IggnantOG2 жыл бұрын
@RandoCalrissian you understand. Continuous sense of danger. I've lived off the grid the last 3 years and loved it till the cops came here. I used to hear the birds and Squirrels and fish jumping. I live 3 miles down a dirt road right on the Mississippi. Perfect spot. I let my buddy that owns this land use my suburban to drive. He got a dwi and they confiscated my truck. I only hear car tires on the gravel now. And usually the only one that comes this far down the dirt road is the mailman.

From our travels, I think fall is the best and worst time to travel. The best because of all the beautiful fall colors and building anticipation for the special days ahead. But the worst because everyone is getting ready for winter. Stores are closing. Campgrounds are closing. And all the cool touristy traps are rolling up the carpet until next season. As for scary Walmarts? Try northwest Arizona. We worked several jobs down there and all the desert rats come to town Friday nights. It is a whole different people group that what you see during the day. It was fascinating, but I was very glad I did not need to camp there for the night.... At my age 60 I reflect on what has been important ambitions. I would say owning or able live on a simple secure property for retirement should be one. All else on the way may seem important, but at the the last, those things will have come and gone with barely a memory. Jono

Every Pueblo community has there own slightly different way of traditional practices, to know and understand that will require much studies of them, and since you read much, I'm sure you'll come across a book about the history of NM Pueblos. I bought a RV Starlink last spring and really like it, if I can see the sky clearly I get really great internet. I am sure that you know this (took me a while to figure it out) my phone will automatically make calls through Starlink if there is no cell service. One more benefit, I have Blink security cameras on my RV and Starlink allows them to work anywhere. Might be something to consider since you are traveling alone. You can look through any camera using your phone also they are motion activated so if anyone or anything approaches our RV it will warn me and record the event. Also I can check my RV from any other location where there is internet. Love your videos!

Letting go of ambition can be truly difficult when you've spent decades striving towards goals. An event in your life illuminates the futility of all those grasping years. Letting go and learning to live without particular direction can be depressing, and very difficult to master. Society ingraines that one must attain material wealth to feel self worth. As it turns out that is patently false. I am old, there are few somedays left to me. I'll not spend the remainder grasping at an unobtainable material happiness. Time to downsize and simplify.

My wife was sick most of our married life but I still loved her and had made that commitment. Then one day I came home and found her dead. I had been her care taker her provider and her lover for all those years and they were gone. Now I look back and see that I don't think she really loved me just because of things I know she did behind my back. But I still loved her. So find someone that loves the outdoors the natural things in life and loved you for who you are not who they want you to be. To bad you are from a younger generation and we never met.
