As far as a person who lives alone and doesn’t have family/friends to check on them daily - there is a FREE service in The Villages- the person signs up with the local police or community watch to agree to call at a specific time every day. If the person doesn’t call at the specific time, a welfare check is initiated.

Dear Jerry & Linda, I thoroughly enjoy your Monday & Thursday amusing & info filled videos! I've been keeping up with you, within 4 weeks of you starting your videos! (You've come a long way in your video production! You've become real pros!) You have always kept a smile on my face & a tickle in my heart! Especially during a very tough time last year. My father passed away unexpectedly after just a few days, of a common & normally easily treatable infection. Bothering of you with little Gizmo, were always there Mondays & Thursdays to put a smile on my face & tickle in my heart! (And you're still here while my heart continues to heal.) And I have another tough thing to deal with now. My wonderful, sweet little French Bulldog, Beau, has to have an ortho-neurosurgery procedure. It's dangerous & but he is in severe pain. Please keep your fingers crossed, positive thoughts & prayers for my little Beau. He is my supportive & loving "Little One/Beau". 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 BTW-Beau loves it when Gizmo comes on while I'm watching your videos. A great big "Hi there" to Gizmo from Beau too. Many blessings to & your family! Keep up with the great videos! Kind Regards, Renee H. "ReneeOutWest" on IG

I took the New to Golf program at Sarasota in the Villages and it was worth every penny. As someone who had never played before, I felt it was so worth learning how to play the right way, versus trying to unlearn bad habits. Also, the most critical thing that pays off every day…they take you to your first 18 hole golf course and teach you so much…including how not to be intimidated,so you will go play!

(Suzie) Watching your show today..with regard to power outages..I was home alone with a 'bum knee, sitting in my power recliner and the power went out..you guessed it...I was trapped!! Power stayed off for quite awhile, but thankfully, I was finally able to roll out of my chair over the arm! I called my husband who was up in Michigan and he said, "Oh dear, sorry, but there's not much I can do from here!!"

To repair a pitch mark on the green insert a tee or ball mark repair tool at a 45 degree angle and push grass towards the middle. Do not lift up. Lifting up detaches the roots and leaves dirt in the middle. Lots of good youtube tutorials on this.

Jerry just finished watching your show. First this about the houses south of 44 my wife loves that we have gas as she hates electric stoves. The downside is the Tankless Hot Water Heaters they say instant hot water not the case. Takes a minute or two to hit the faucet or shower. In regards to the Bonds that everyone asks about or is concerned about. Something you might want to mention on one of your episodes. Basically in lots of other states you are still paying that bond fee instead that have it as an Impact Fee charged to the builder. Like in Illinois when a new builder builds a new home the Government charges the Builder an Impact Fee that pays for all the infrastructure. That is the fee the builder pays and then in turn the Builder includes that fee into the price of the new home. So back in other states you really never think about that fee because its built into the price of the new home. Also the question does the post office do wellness checks if they see mail piled up in the boxes. I don't think so at all. As many people in the Villages at times leave for a week or two on vacation and just let mail pile up without putting a hold notice into the post office. Or I have even found that at times I have let the mail sit in the box for 3 or 4 days. A good idea is when you move down here is when you start making friends is to make arrangements with your friends that you will text each other once a day to say hello and all is good. As always thanks for your Videos I look forward to them every week.

Never pry up the ball mark. Popping up the mark tears the roots and kills the grass. Push the edge of the ball mark toward the center, using your ball mark repair tool in a gentle twisting motion.

I live in Citrus Grove and have the tankless water heater. It's not instant, but it is endless. It takes about 2 minutes for the hot water to get to my master bath, but once it's hot it stays hot until I turn it off. I've heard you can install an "instant" system under each sink, but I haven't done that yet. Even though it's not instant, I still like it. I like having the extra storage space (which as you know is at a premium here) next to the air handler instead of having a big bulky water tank there. (Glad you guys are on the mend!)

Etiquette is so important. If a ball goes into the rough, never hold up a foursome. Just drop another ball in a favorable spot and yell out to your fellow players that “I found my ball.” Then hit the ball and move on. Don’t burden your fellow players with the fact you dropped your ball. They have their own game to focus on so remain silent about your dropped ball and be considerate toward them.

Hi Jerry and Linda: Perhaps I can assist you with any further experiences with wetsuits. I started surfing in 1965 as a teenager 58 years ago. I am also a PADI certified diver with dives in Hawaii, Mexico, New Jersey, Georgia and, of course, Florida. When I started surfing in New Jersey as a teen, they didn't actually manufacture wetsuits exclusively for surfing so we had to wear diver wetsuits that were thick and very bulky. My first wetsuit was a US Diver 7mm straight jacket! Some even had what they called a "beaver tail" that went between your legs and snapped in the front. However, the wetsuits of today are highly specialized. Many surfers including me and my sons wear wetsuits called 3/2. A 3/2 wetsuit is 3 mm for your torso and 2 mm for your arms, legs, and most importantly your armpits. The thinner neoprene gives your arms the flexibility to paddle due to easier movement. I think if you and Linda had surfing type wetsuits with 3/2 neoprene you would be more comfortable and find you have a better fit. One final thought, a properly fitted wetsuit will act as a second skin on your body. So getting it on dry and off wet can be quite an experience often requiring help from your surf/dive buddy. Good luck if you try again! Like my oldest son says when he helps me pop my head out of my wetsuit, "It's a boy!"

Having lived in south Florida for 14 years, there is a difference living in central Fla. The humidity down south makes it more uncomfortable to be outside. The air seems "thicker" and hotter. Here, the sun seems to be stronger but the humidity is much lower making it feel a lil cooler and more comfortable. 😅
