Got pregnant again in hope of a girl & people convinced me every pregnancy was different. Nope, turns out THAT was a lie. So, yeah I am 24 married, own a home have a career, but felt like I was being tortured once again through my pregnancy. I had to LEAVE my job, because I had nausea/vomiting so bad. I didn't sign up for this. I signed up to just have a baby not be sick that I can't even continue making an income. People really have the audacity to tell a women what she should/shouldn't do with her body. Throwing up 4+ times a day, couldn't even eat half a bagel so lost 15 lbs in 2 weeks. For anyone to say a fetus has a say over the mother has literally lost their mind. I learned that the fetus will get what it needs through the pregnancy, the mother will loose. I was not anemic before I got pregnant and now my RBC count has dropped a lot. Baby is taking so much from me. I will not EVER do this again. I do not recommend. Birth of a baby can be a wonderful thing, but pregnancy and labor I won't sugar coat it, it SUCKS! You may find some women who glorify it or had little to no issues. But, so many women have legit reasons. I have always been pro-choice. But, before I ever had a kid I swore up and down I'd never consider an abortion. When I got pregnant I learned REAL quick the reality. I get irritated when I see men go against abortions. I'm like imagine someone kicking you in the balls repeatedly multiple times a day and they said the only way to get rid of that pain within 9 months was to get rid of it. That would be a tough decision, but since you're in so much pain you will consider it or even do it) Like I'm not even joking having HG had me looking up abortion clinics daily. NO ONE should have a say on what a women does or chooses to do. This topic hits home for me. Because, my mom had HG as well and almost lost her life even when the drs. recommended her to end the pregnancy. If a mother died giving birth to a baby then its "Oh well." but, if a fetus is aborted then the women is "evil." Some people believe no abortions no matter what even if they're raped, some people believe abortions only if it's a medical reason. Truth is what ever happens no one is gonna be happy. But, let's keep it really simple. These people screaming pro-life no very well that they could care less. There is a women somewhere out there right now having an abortion and not one of us know who that person is. We aren't sitting here trying to find out either. When an actual child passes away y'all say "awww" and then continue on with your lives. When the fetus is passed just like a miscarriage it’s a big glob, you can’t even see any features what so ever. And by time a fetus looks more like a baby especially in third trimester they don’t just abort the baby. If complications come up they try to do something called induction or c-section to remove it (especially when it’s viable around 24 weeks) so it can be alive outside of the womb. Amen. I’ve had friends who got abortions while in committed relationships because it would ruin their career and ultimately lead to a worse life for the kid. In one case it was to allow her to leave her emotionally abusive partner who was awful for her mental health. There are a million and one reasons someone could have an abortion, and they are all valid.

i had an abortion when i was in my early 20s. i’m not proud of it, but i’m not ashamed of it either. i was on birth control but was horrible about remembering to take it regularly. (i switched birth control after that.) i wasn’t prepared or willing to give up things that could hinder or harm it. you can call me selfish, but i just wasn’t ready to change my life for an unplanned and unwanted pregnancy. even now many years later, it’s one of the best things i’ve done. i wasn’t responsible enough back then to take care of myself or it during pregnancy. it was more like a sigh of relief for both me and my boyfriend. having an abortion isn’t for everybody, but it should be easily available to all.

I had an abortion in 1987. Back then it was legal. No such things as bans, heartbeat laws, forced sonograms, and no such thing as the abortion pill that came out in 2000. I was one of those who said nope would never happen to me! I had irregular periods. But one went too long and got a home pregnancy test. All it said was pregnant. I had to go to a doctor, finding my own transport because my parents refused, I was an adult. So I found out I was 12 weeks. No sonogram. So have no idea if one can tell the gender at 12 weeks. I told my parents I need an abortion. Dad was born in 1927 mom was born in 1931. Those dates matter because back then you didn’t even say the word abortion and of course no doubt back alley butchers did the deed. My parents were very progressive. We support your decision. I again had to find a doctor and transportation. I don’t know how it’s done in a Clinic as I had mine in a hospital and under anesthesia. All went well. I lost it however when I saw a documentary on pregnancy and at 12 weeks it wasn’t a la clump of cells life that the doctor said. It was the size of a walnut and fully formed. I lost it because I was lied to. I was 28 not 5. I told my boyfriend at the time and he was furious! Why didn’t you consult me! Why should I! Well I’. Not going to pay you back for it! I said I never asked! I pay my own medical bills. His outage was outrageous. Since when do I need to consult him! We were girlfriend boyfriend. I wasn’t owned, we were never going to be married and I don’t need to check for permission. It was ironic his outrage. One he was divorced. If you can’t hold a marriage together, since when does someone have to consult on a medical issue. Two, he already had a daughter he never bothered to help raise or financially support and claimed the mom wanted no money. I said you never offered anyway. Who turns down money to help support their kid! Third he had absolutely no contact with his daughter who’d be in her 40’s by now. I should consult about an abortion when you have a kid you want nothing to do with? Fourth, a year later he threatened a sheriff’s nephew with a gun and was in jail for 8 years. Nope, one who can’t stay out of jail, has no say on medical issues. I had an older brother. No younger siblings, I hung around older kids never younger because there were none where I was. I’m not fond of kids. And mom, who was an alcoholic narcissist wasn’t exactly mom of the year. But I’m a great pet parent. I’m just not fond of human kids. Oh I’m nice to them if they say hello, and I baby sat a couple kids of a friend, but having kids, nope! Do I feel shame, guilt, regret? That’s society who feels that way. I don’t! Was my abortion to save my life? Nope. It was just because and I was entitled. Do I care that some don’t approve? Not in the least. I’m almost 65 now. I think I can live another 20 years without needing anyone’s approval or permission. Have done fine so far! I was outrage at the nurse. Her job was to explain the procedure NOT launch int the how about adoption! Not going to carry for nine months and give away. I stopped her and she was shocked. Tell me the procedure I said and shut up about adoption. Your political or ideological views are of no interest. The doctor kept asking me are you sure? Not once but twice! Are men who want a vasectomy asked are you sure? You may change your mind! No! He gets no questions. It took three years to find a doctor who’d tie my tubes. It’s legal! Got the same crap. Are you sure? Yeah at 31 I was sure. Not stupid y’know. Ironically he gave me too much anesthesia and the nurse thought I’d never wake up. Best sleep I ever had! From what I was told my 12 week old fetus was sucked out by a tube. Whole! None of this crunching of bone and ripping off limbs. My period resumed. I did ask can I have a hysterectomy also? No ethical doctor will do that. So I have everything in there and cauterized tubes. But it was a strange thing. You’re questioned about an abortion, then when you want to be unable to be ever pregnant with tube tying you’re questioned as if your job is to get and be pregnant. Yell at you for abortion, yell at you when you don’t ever want to be pregnant again. Have no idea if other women are given an interrogation today if they want voluntary sterilization. What’s with this abortion is murder garbage! Demand that guns be banned so no school kids are murdered you have the we have the right to shoot anyone! Kids included! Why do the pro lifers and anti abortion people have NO abortion is murder when a fetus is tested and has Downs Syndrome and the doctor suggests abortion! You have an extra two chromosomes, it’s not fatal, Downs Syndrome kids are smart. I used to student teach them at a camp and when I was in high school. They can learn, get simple jobs, pay taxes and even heard of one who graduated college. He needed extra help? Who doesn’t in school. So abortion isn’t murder for a fetus with Downs Syndrome but abortion of a ‘normal’ kid is murder? Sounds very eugenics to me and hypocritical. For some an abortion can save her life! Ectopic pregnancy. It can grow outside the womb and can rupture something and mom bleeds to death. No amniotic fluid the baby dies. They use it to move around and when they get older they exercise their lungs breathing that fluid by mouth as the nose is plugged by waxy like plugs. A fetus can have their organs growing outside their bodies, and don’t live long. Forced to carry a dead baby she gets sepsis and can die of infection. So it seems like the exception for the life of the mother politicians have even taken that away. Rape victims and incest victims shouldn’t be forced to birth a child of violence! The subject of abortion is stupidly selective. It’s always about the fetus. Well without mom the fetus has a bit of a problem. She should take precedence! Male politicians have taken and the Supreme Court who got rid of Roe that legalized abortion in 1973 act like politicians, and know nothing about medicine. Wonder how many abortions the men Supreme Court judges paid for! Now both want to take away contraceptives from women but NOT men who don’t wear it anyway. Do men really support the right to abortion? Or is it whew glad I don’t have to take care of the kid! I think it’s an honest question. If we have an abortion we don’t need permission for men or ask their approval. I don’t think men say so honey I’m going to have a vasectomy what do you think? They do it! I was Middle Middle Class when I had my abortion. Yes my parents were Middle Middle Class. Middle Class went up a notch. The point is abortion isn’t just a Poor thing. I was able to pay for mine because insurance at the time didn’t cover it. I’m tired of the guilting and condemnation of those who’ve never had an abortion. And they’re the first if you criticize how they raise their kids, tell you don’t tell me how to raise my kids! When I’ve suggested that pro lifers take care of a pregnant person in their home and on their dime I’ve gotten “deal” but of course they didn’t, OR “It’s not our responsibility to raise other peoples’ kids!” You want ‘em born YOU raise ‘em! One pro lifer said “well I donate to pregnant women to help raise their kid!” You don’t personally had her your money and you won’t do it without a tax deduction. For some abortion is easy to go through to others it’s hard because society makes it so! I asked a monumental question to mom once. If you had a choice, would you have gotten married and had my brother and I? Can’t remember why I asked but her answer astounded me. Normally mom did what she wanted. But she said if I had a choice no. But it was what you were supposed to do. She got married to dad in 1954 when she was only 23. She was supposed to be married and had kids. And her sentiment for both was apparent. Why dad put up with her drinking and her narcissism he felt he was “supposed” to. Abortion is something called health care! Would the pro lifer anti abortion person want government to say well we don’t believe in organ transplants to save your life, tough luck! Or you have dementia and need care? Sorry! awe don’t believe in it, tough luck! Sound absurd? Well when my fiancé passed away the organs that were in good shape they refused to donate. They didn’t believe in it. Not government but the same principle. We don’t believe in it who cares about others who could’ve used his organs. His heart was the only bad organ. When does it end! No more right of choice! Politicians are trying to prevent the abortion pill. They want to take away the right of women to have contraception. Prevent her from traveling to get an abortion. Since when do others tell you where you can travel! What next? Take away same sex marriage because politicians don’t believe in it when it doesn’t affect your marriage one bit? make interracial marriages illegal again? Justice Thomas would have a problem with that! Where does it end! Yes I had an abortion in 1987! No apologies! Abortion not approved by another don’t get one! Things start small with trashing Roe YOU could be next for a health right, or ANY right to be stolen from you. And you’ll shout unfair while approving it for others like you’re an exception.

Yeah. We were together for years and got pregnant on birth control. We both had just started new jobs the week we found out, didn't know where we would be living in a couple months and both of our mental health's were in the gutter but we loved each other and wanted a baby so it was a really hard and emotional decision to make. We decided to do it and the whole process was traumatizing for the both of us but we knew at the time it was the best choice. Now it's a couple years later and we're in a much better place and are pregnant with a baby girl that we know we'll be able to properly provide for

I've never had an abortion, and I hope I never have to have one. But I did have a miscarriage last year that I'm very open talking about. Keeping silent about abortion and sex and miscarriage has turned into something stigmatized and negative when it's normal parts of life. I want people in my life to know they can talk to me about pregnancy and sex and that I won't judge them based on their experiences and choices. If people around me are uncomfortable with my degree of openness, that's on th and has no bearing on how I'm going to live my life.

I’m glad the men all realized that they weren’t the ones who had the vast majority of the responsibility and therefore should defer to the woman and her choice. As for the girl who said, “if you’re grown enough to do the deed you’re grown enough to keep it”- there are so many reasons why that’s so incredibly wrong. Rape being the first, but no only, reason. No child should be brought into this world unwanted, unloved, and set up for abuse and/or neglect. That’s the harsh truth.

I know it's easy for me to say this but you did it for the child you will perhaps have in the future, so that you can bring them into the world when you're as confident as you can be that you'll provide them with the best life possible. Think about the future version of yourself as a mother and how awesome you'll be. Don't dwell on the past version that wouldn't have been ready or willing. This is why you have the power to influence your future.

If you are respectful of the women who would have an abortion or did, please be respectful of those who do not. Choice is a two way street. Neither path is easy. Also, keep in mind, some of what's described here is when something is medically wrong and the only choice is what mitigates suffering. As someone who has had two ultrasounds end with news no one wants to hear, that situation is devastating. And I had no choices at that point. It was about what was going to hurt them less due to medical that was totally unavoidable.

I hate it when men say they are infertile but actually are not and/or never confirm it. And lie about it. Such a thing happened to a friend. She aborted it and broke up with the guy. He thought he could make her keep the baby and baby trap her. Before having sex with a person know their intentions and their sexual history. And to the ladies don't say you are on birth control but never really take the pills.
@334brm2 жыл бұрын
Not saying it was your friends fault in any way but I think just knowing yourself and what you want going into the act. Just being aware that hey he may say he is but does that mean he is 100%. It’s ultimately both of their decisions unless it was rape. Yah it’s awful that he lied but I would put all the blame on him. Like the one girl in the video said,”if you’re grown enough to do it, you’re grown enough to keep it and raise it.”

I 100000% support anyone who decides to go through an abortion but when I think about myself... it gets difficult. As someone with PCOS, the ability to get pregnant is decreased and I always worry whether I'll be able to have a child in the future. So if I did get a surprise pregnancy, I would keep it. Of course I would always have adoption as an option, but I would like to raise a biological child at least once if I can in the future.
